The guy had a big enough platform (off the field) where he could have gotten his message out and I am sure the 49er and NFL bean counters have realized that 40% of their down-turn in profits this year were attributed to Kaepernik's behavior (along with a few others).

Hmmm. . . .wonder where that number came from.

The average increase in valuation this past year was 19%. Only 7 of the 32 teams had a valuation increase less than 10% All had an increase.

I realize profit is a separate animal. But does the 40% account the bottom line for each team? Does it include revenues from stadia, from TV contracts, gate receipts? Wot!? Each team is a privately owned entity. Do you have profit reports for each of 32 teams? Would love to see your source, Michael.

Television broadcasting rights for the season are sold pre-season. Next year those revenues will reflect the viewer loss this year.

Actually, because he started doing this (or making noise about it) in the pre-season, the NFL was showing down-turns in their profits by the second game or so.

I was one of the people that didn't renew my Sunday Ticket© (in fact, I got rid of DirecTV™ because they are the only ones that carry it and I told them that my non-desire for NFL games was the reason I was cancelling) subscription. Let me explain: The NFL sent me an e-mail about renewing and I told them to shove it and why and then, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that DirecTV™ was a waste because the only reason I tolerated their shitty service (and customer service) was because of the NFL. So, I told them that since I wasn't going to be bothering with the NFL, I wouldn't be bothering with them.

I know several people that did the same thing (although they just went to bars to watch their teams).

Anyway, early on in the season, the NFL realized subscriptions were down and they did some research and 40% of the people surveyed said it was because of Kaepernik's offensive histrionics.

There were other reasons, but that one was (I think) the biggest reason given. I think 29% was because of cost ($320 for the season) and that was the next biggest reason.

I hope the Jets pick him up.
That would be an appropriate punishment.

Just who would that punish if he were to lead the jets to a super bowl win?

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I see that Thompson analytical skills haven't improved.

While the odds against the jets winning the next super bowl are about 150 to 1 there are two teams with even less of a chance at about 300 to 1.
