The biased liberal media strikes again.

Fox News host Shepard Smith said on Friday afternoon that the network's news division was unable to confirm a report from an analyst who said earlier this week President Barack Obama sought help from British intelligence to spy on then-candidate Donald Trump.

"Fox News cannot confirm Judge [Andrew] Napolitano's commentary," Smith said. "Fox News knows of no evidence of any kind that the now-president of the United States was surveilled at any time, in any way. Full stop."

Emphasis mine. Link includes video of Smith's statement.

Why am I not surprised ? Maybe because the charge came from the highest-powered, thinest-skinned, most narcissistic, megalomaniac in history.

That's really old news

Here's some even older news

From the ass whooping Sean Spicer gave FOX News and everyone else yesterday, more examples of the media reporting on Obama administration "wiretapping" the Trump campaign:

quote:

SPICER: Let’s go through what we do know. The New York Times reported on January 12th, 2017… On March 3rd, Fox News Chief Anchor Bret Baier said the following… On November 11th, 2016, days after the election, Heat Street reported, quote,… January 19th, the New York Times reported the following,… Andy McCarthy, writing in National Review suggested quote… Heat Street describes these concerns… We go on. Sara Carter from the Circa reporting… Numerous outlets including the New York Times have reported on the FBI investigation into Mr. Trump’s advisers, BBC and then McClatchy revealed the existence of a multi-agency working group to coordinate investigations… On February 14th, the New York Times again refers to phone records and intercepted calls… Days later, the New York Times then reports, quote… Sean Hannity went on Fox to say, quote… Last on Fox News, on March 14th, Judge Andrew Napolitano made the following statement...

I will break it down to your level, since you asked me so nicely

The media is full of reports that the Obama administration was wiretapping the Trump campaign, all kinds of stories detailing it. There is no debate, it is settled science.

And that's okay, for the media to breathlessly report without evidence that Donald Trump colluded with the Russians to "steal" the presidency from Queen Hillary, and to cite all of these "anonymous sources" within the Obama administration detailing what the Obama surveillance of the Trump campaign is supposedly finding

But if the President mentions that bit of news, that reported surveilance - more leftist hysteria than ever

The story in question was published on the paper’s front page on Jan. 20 — the day Trump was inaugurated — under the headline, “Wiretapped Data Used in Inquiry of Trump Aides.”

So, in fact, the word “wiretapped” appears. But at no point does the article, produced under the bylines of four reporters, make the assertion that Obama “ordered” a wiretapping of candidate Trump or that any such surveillance took place at Trump Tower in New York.

Instead, the Times story speaks to a broader and more diffuse FBI investigation of possible links between unnamed Russian officials and Trump associates. The article identified the associates under investigation as former campaign manager Paul Manafort and advisers Carter Page and Roger Stone.

This is a chess piece movement. Classic (President) Trump. His next moves are unknown while his opponent plays into his hands. Remember when he at the last minute made seemingly crazy moves into the Blue Wall and captured some key chess pieces, states, and his opponent never knew what was happening until the game suddenly ended with him winning. Remember the release of his 2005 tax return which moved an opposing piece effectively off the board and distracted the other side?

One can pretend one knows what is happening if it makes one feel better for a little while. Ask Hillary.

LOL... some people still believe there is something impossibly intelligent behind all of this fucking insanity.
Trump didn't win the election because he is smart, he won it because so many American voters are stupid.

Stupid people respond better to other stupid people than people who are smarter than they are... it's not about whether or not they have good ideas or whether or not they are better suited to the job (because how the hell would a stupid person even know that?). It's about whether or not they can connect with the people.

Obama was extremely intelligent and competent-- he deserved to be president, but he didn't get elected because of that... he was elected because people thought they were going to get a lot of free shit, black people wanted him to win because he's black, and white people wanted to prove that they weren't racist. It was a good result, but for stupid reasons. It would HAVE to be for stupid reasons.

I think whatever happens next, it will be focused on the "aides" investigations.
manaforts, flynns, etc etc etc.
Which we already know has turned up lots of information.
He had to lose six people in one week because they didnt pass their background checks. Of course we will never know the reasons, but Preet was investigating Price when he got fired, Sessions had to recuse himself, for russian contact....
He says more info in two weeks...typical delay and forget tactic.
With Fox news now underfire for not having facts (lying Fox) (via napolitano AND shammity) he directly passed the buck. the chicken shit.

Lucylastic -> RE: Fox News: "No Evidence" for Trump's Surveillance Claims (3/18/2017 4:17:47 AM)

Article from the NYTimes
Will President Trump ever learn — or care — that his fact-free tweets have painful consequences, not just at home but abroad? Surely he must sense this by now, as the administration faces the outrage of British allies who have been dragged into his increasingly bogus allegation that he was spied on by the Obama administration.

In a feverish defense of Mr. Trump’s charge, the White House press spokesman, Sean Spicer, on Thursday cited an unsubstantiated Fox News report that the British intelligence agency, Government Communications Headquarters, had been secretly called on by the Obama administration to spy on Mr. Trump.

British officials were terse in their fury, dismissing the allegation as “nonsense.” “Utterly ridiculous and should be ignored,” the British agency said.

White House aides tried to calm the waters with incensed British officials, who said they had received assurances that the allegations would not be repeated. But no one speaks for Mr. Trump. On Friday, he stuck by his wiretapping charge — without disputing a Fox News commentator’s claim of British spy involvement — despite Republican leaders in Congress debunking his accusation, saying that intelligence investigators have found no evidence to back it.

“Very soon,” Mr. Trump said in an interview on Wednesday night, the administration “will be submitting things” to Congress to prove his outrageous accusation.

What things? From what Alt-Right Tooth Fairy? Surely the nation — even Mr. Trump’s credulous base — is learning to recognize his dodges when he is cornered. “I think you’re going to find some very interesting items coming to the forefront over the next two weeks,” Mr. Trump promised, probably quite aware that he can always generate a different controversy by tweet when nothing he says comes true.

Mr. Trump’s pattern for abusing the truth was established in his disgraceful five-year-long “birther” campaign, in which he promoted the lie that President Obama was not born in the United States. “I have people that have been studying” the issue, he said in an interview in 2011. “They cannot believe what they are finding,” he said, grabbing national attention with a vile slander against the president.

Mr. Trump backed off that fabrication only when the Republican nomination was safely his. He briefly stipulated the obvious, that Mr. Obama was born in the United States. But he instantly concocted a new falsehood, insisting that his opponent Hillary Clinton, not he, initiated the birther conspiracy.

He never publicly apologized to Mr. Obama for that slur (or to Mrs. Clinton, for that matter). Nor is he likely to apologize to Mr. Obama or Downing Street for the latest. “If he didn’t do it, we shouldn’t be reckless in accusations that he did,” Representative Tom Cole, Republican of Oklahoma, said Friday of Mr. Obama, in finding Mr. Trump offered no “compelling truth.”

The idea of Mr. Trump apologizing for anything is surreal. At a news conference on Friday with German chancellor Angela Merkel, Mr. Trump said he “very seldom” regrets his tweets. He tried to argue that the White House was silent about the unsubstantiated story of British espionage, though he did take care to praise the claim as coming from “a very talented” commentator. (Meanwhile, of course, he continues to show a mysterious lack of concern for what American intelligence has found to be actual foreign meddling in American politics, by Russia.)

Of course, it was Mr. Spicer, the president’s spokesman, who had dutifully come forth, more as minister of propaganda to compound the smear by stretching it all the way to London.

“I don’t think we regret anything,” Mr. Spicer blithely told reporters on Friday, even after Fox News said it “knows of no evidence” that the London spying tale is true.'

The alt left is (as always) pushing false premises. This president isn't stupid, Russia didn't steal the election, this president isn't a Putin loving faggot as Lucy Lastic's copy & paste Democrat Party sponsored memes try to claim...

The TIMES story wasn't alone, watch the video I posted. Many in the media were heavily pushing the DNC-sponsored story that claimed Trump was being investigated for working with Russia, and alt left radicals right here are furthering that same narrative still. Now that president Trump pointed that fact out, the alt left media is spazzing out, and are now trying to tell you that you didn't see what you saw, despite the hard fact that you saw it and there are records of that reporting. Sean Spicer (who the Democrat-sponsored media portrays as a hated faggot) rattled off a long list of those reports in his presser the other day.

Preet was fired for childishly refusing to tinder his resignation. The president asked every attorney for their resignation, every one of them. Only one threw a hissy fit - and not all resignations were accepted.

Sessions recused himself to be a nice guy. Democrats were demanding he recuse himself, and once he did they and you say that is proof of guilt, another false narrative

Which this is all about false narratives

Alt left radicals keep pushing articles from CNN and the Washington Post, those are two outlets (out of many) dedicated to political activism against Republicans so they're worthless as hard news. Its all propaganda, all the time. If they ever admit to anything that doesn't fit one of the alt left's false narratives, it is grudgingly and against their will

BoscoX -> RE: Fox News: "No Evidence" for Trump's Surveillance Claims (3/18/2017 4:56:06 AM)

The NYT - another SJW propaganda pusher

How many times have the alt left radicals here spat on the British for working with an American president

Now the thought that such a thing could happen is outrageous

Just like the ever-changing alt left narratives about our spy apparatus. One minute the USA is a colonialist war monger bent on enslaving the third world, and the CIA is the heart of the monster (even spying on citizens here)

The next minute, if you don't trust the CIA (including the allied Brit spooks) with your daughters virginity you must be made of unspeakable apple-pie-hating evil

The alt left has no compass, there are no solid unwavering facts, only false narratives constantly bent to suit the political needs of the moment

Lucylastic -> RE: Fox News: "No Evidence" for Trump's Surveillance Claims (3/18/2017 4:59:38 AM)

All you said above basically boils down to the usual breitbart narrative of
"neener neener drool drool but but Only trump state news is truth, burble drip bullshit drool. ."

Thank you for your mindbending thoughts on this lovely saturday morning. SO boring I need to back for a nap.

While this president fundamentally transforms America (rather than golf, vacation, and party all of the time) the brain trust at the heart of the Democrat party is screaming "RUSSIA", sending out homophobic memes, and insulting voters by telling them that they are stoopit

This is exactly their behavior throughout the campaign. They also think that voters trust the media WAY too much, so they are focused on eliminating whatever little trust somehow accidentally remains

bounty44 -> RE: Fox News: "No Evidence" for Trump's Surveillance Claims (3/18/2017 5:39:13 AM)

its interesting too to note that of course shepherd smith is telling the definitive truth when he declares "no evidence"---and not from the perspective of that there could be but just that there isn't yet and rather that trumps making all this up---but judge Napolitano and Hannity are "lying" when they say something different.
