Oil companies are heavily subsidized, especially for exploration.

In 2016, oil and gas exploration was subsidized about $7.1 billion dollars. Consider about half of Obama's...what...$890 billion stimulus went to "alternative" energy. Most of the companies receiving the stimulus money took it, gave bonuses to the owners and went bankrupt.

Of course, while the democrats owned the House, the Senate and the White House, they could have eliminated the oil exploration subsidy, but they didn't. The democrats, of course, needed to leave some things for their kool aid drinkers to bitch about.

hell even this thread speaks to his need to whine about his lack of everything testicular.

Dont u ever get tired of being so damn stupid,.... boss-hoe?

maybe we should call u an "alt-whiner".

.

Do you, somehow, think that posting ignorant, self loathing comments makes you appear smart or dominant?

Do u, somehow, think that posting ignorant, comments in support of a perpetually self loathing, ball-less wimp makes u appear neither smart or dominant? Or just his fellow alt-whiner?

Hehe, another sock of the mental patient. Remember, mental patient, when you call other people there same name they just called you, then we know it's one of the voices in your head.

I'm not the partisan hack you are. I don't give a fuck who's giving oil the subsidy. They don't need it. It should stop.

Meanwhile, other countries have lept decades ahead of us in wind and solar. We could learn from them -- if so many of us weren't stubborn partisan hacks.

Shut up, you are an ignorant woman. No one is ahead of us

Oh yes other countries have electrical prices seven times ours because they have better renewable technology. Oh wait...we all use the same technology. How is it again that all of those countries are ahead of us?

Musicmystery -> RE: Turning On The Pipeline Spigot (3/20/2017 9:56:10 AM)

Your ignorance is showing.

Denmark and Germany, for starters, are far ahead of us in renewable energy. Other countries are fast on their heels.

We're...still insisting coal is the answer.

Little Germany subsidizes alternative energy $36 billion (compared to the $7.1 billion you bitch about the U.S. subsidizing oil exploration) a year and still has electricity prices four times that of the U.S. Please tell me by what yardstick you measure that they are so far ahead of us? Please provide citations?

Google is your friend.

Meanwhile, the "OMG not like Europe!" crowd keeps us in coal.

Coal, FFS. Like it's the 19th century still.

Interestingly enough, it was the coal states which leftists have pissed on, who put President Trump over the top

no problem!! Showing u how uninformed u are is a pleasure.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_power_by_country

like the man said.....google is ur friend.....the smarter one. The USA is generally 4th in solar power.

As of January 2017, the largest solar power plant in the world is the 850 MW Longyangxia Dam Solar Park in China.

By ranking....

Top 10 countries in 2015 based on total PV installed capacity (MW)

China: 43,530 MW (22.5%)
Germany: 39,700 MW (20.6%)
Japan: 34,410 MW (17.8%)
United States: 25,620 MW (13.3%)
Italy: 18,920 MW (9.8%)
United Kingdom: 8,780 MW (4.5%)
France: 6,580 MW (3.4%)
Spain: 5,400 MW (2.8%)
Australia: 5,070 MW (2.6%)
India: 5,050 MW (2.6%)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_power_by_country

wind power on the other hand we are STILL behind the European union.......as of 2016

Installed wind power capacity (MW)

China: 168,690
European union: 153,730
USA : 82,183

u can read the rest of the list on ur own...... I doubt u will, but u can.

For what the USA has for technology us dragging behind china because we keep hanging on to coal, & old oil money,
and not driving ahead with cleaner energy is a disgrace.

For the moment we generate more wind power, but as china & the EU get more of their capacity utilized & on the grid and we fall backward with the rumpsters,... the USA soon will be also-rans on that score too.

So to sum up.......THE USA IS NOT THE TOP DUMBASSES.....and with this new crop of also-dumbass swamp-people in the white house, at their speed thats not going to change.

Yes, China has more people than the U.S. as well. Does that make it a better country somehow. You're not showing shit. Well, except for ignorance mental patient sock. State what is better. That Germany subsidizes power on a much grander scale than the lefties bitch about subsidies with our oil? What yardstick is "better"? I know this is hard for you, but try and think.

Musicmystery -> RE: Turning On The Pipeline Spigot (3/20/2017 4:16:11 PM)

Perhaps you should try.

Does it make more sense to subsidize future, sustainable, renewable power, or dying out, unsustainable long-term, environmentally destructive power?

I'll be happy to answer that question, in a civil tone since it was offered in a civil tone, once you define what is best.

Musicmystery -> RE: Turning On The Pipeline Spigot (3/20/2017 4:24:24 PM)

I didn't use the word best, so I've no idea what you mean.

Seems to me to be the difference between an investment for the future vs. throwing good money after bad.

Here is what you said. It doesn't say best but it implies you think there is a best that is better than here. I've been asking for some time for you to explain what far ahead of us means?

Musicmystery -> RE: Turning On The Pipeline Spigot (3/20/2017 4:41:32 PM)

That's already been answered by another poster.
