That's already been answered by another poster.

No, it really hasn't. So hold my hand and walk me through it. Who said, "this thing here is better, in my opinion, than that thing there"? Nobody has established the yardstick of what is being measured. I've asked mor than once. I think I've asked clearly. But you, nor anybody else, has stated what is best. You stated countries were far ahead, but you haven't stated far ahead of what specifically. It's a simple point. Why can't you understand it?

Musicmystery -> RE: Turning On The Pipeline Spigot (3/20/2017 5:13:49 PM)

I guess you'll just have to find posters willing to play semantics with you.

I've shared my view. Clearly you hold a different view. It happens.

actually yes it has.

ur fellow alt-whiner said exactly (post#44) "Shut up, you are an ignorant woman. No one is ahead of us"

and u said (post#47) " Please tell me by what yardstick you measure that they are so far ahead of us? Please provide citations?"

I then provided that Yardstick u wanted......including citations.....and there aint enough hand sanitizer on this planet that would clean anything on u ....so no way holding ur hands.

and its quite obvious they ARE ahead of the USA. Most notably China, (u know, china, the country thats bought most of our national debt.)

Ahead in almost every category, and the ones they aren't, they are working harder than the US at them.

And the fact many of ur wealthy gop con-job constituents love to buy their luxury cars from those areas (and china's making inroads in that market as well) should give u a subtle clue their tech aint shabby.

So once again actual fact has slapped ur alt-whiney faces with the word "STUPID" on ur foreheads........

so what insult ya gonna bore Me with this time?? hmmm?? Or just ignore the truth again? (most likely.)

Oh wait,....ur just gonna start another alt-whiney thread aren't u?

Yep, steep decline began before Obama was elected, good find

Thank you for the backup

And that steep decline had nothing to do with who the hell was sitting as president and had everything to do with the supply of crude increasing and the price per barrel dropping, again two things the president does not control.

The ONLY thing the president can do to drop the price of gasoline at the pump over what the market has already done is if he signs an executive order dropping the Federal fuel tax on gasoline.

In fact, you both would do well to read this - Factors Affecting Gasoline Prices or this or this.

Gasoline, like any commodity, has a price set by the simple laws of supply and demand.

Unless the president is pissing gasoline by the truck load, his actions has very little impact on the price at the pump, unless he was to order the invasion of the major oil producing countries, put oil production under military control and then basically sell it to the US oil companies at some stupidly low price.

Musicmystery -> RE: Turning On The Pipeline Spigot (3/21/2017 4:33:11 AM)

Well the economy also crashed, exacerbated by a US structural deficit made worse throughout the Bush years while Congress ignored fiscal policy responsibilities forcing the Fed to pick up the slack using monetary policy until interest rates were so low the liquidity trap eliminated that option and we entered recession instead, pulling down the world with us (we weren't the only factor, but we are 1/5 of the global economy).

So yeah, more than oil going on. And presidents get too much credit/blame for economics, true.

But since the original point was whether gas prices were higher under Bush or Obama, pointless though the distinction may be, pretty clearly they averaged higher under Bush, including topping $4/gal, while staying just over $2 under Obama.

I know correcting assertions of fact isn't something we do here anymore. But there it is.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Turning On The Pipeline Spigot (3/21/2017 5:36:07 AM)

Gas - petrol call it by its fuking proper name Americashire jackals - or a barrel of black gold (oil) was always perceived as a finite/scarce resource...it’s not really, well, not to that extent, and never a good idea to burn it away at ever increasing levels on account of it rapes mother earth, and this displeases her a mite and she is unleashing a turmoil on humanity (climate change)...don’t see this one ending happily ever after myself.

Production was always controlled in such a way – oh fuk it you know what opec is – or cartels right! And that is all there is too it. I think the correct name is racketeering/profiteering/price fixing. But the price you pay for a gallon at the pump bear/bares (ffs a bears a bear) no relationship to the price of a barrel of brent crude - nor how much it costs to extract it.

And that pipeline originally had a completely different planned route.

The crash was caused by Democrat policies, but the point was that Obama is on video saying he wanted gas over five dollars, and his policies were designed to make energy unaffordable, as a part of the wider Democrat war against the poor

Gas prices dropped despite of his efforts, not because of them

WickedsDesire -> RE: Turning On The Pipeline Spigot (3/21/2017 7:08:11 AM)

guffaws The crash was caused by financial institutions and the lack of regulations and them committing fraud. And companies institutions shareholder investors getting rich of that..well the ones who hoovered the cash out did.

And that’s pretty much all there to it. A fancy name is a pyramid scheme or boom and bust cycle. These are forever destined to end but one way. The money gets sucked out by the top level leaving a huge void or barrenness – which of course the majority of the non 1% have to refill again…As you go down the pyramid scheme the greater the burden becomes. And lob in quantative easing by the billions upon billions – now to be clear even that cash is poured directly into the top of the pyramid scheme: and in theory its supposed to make it way down to the bottom – it never, ever does.

You simply cannot create/take money from nothing as there comes a day of great reckoning.

Arguments can be made who allowed these institutions to go that far, what regulations were in place, safe guards.

I could blame Thatcher for that over here as she started that ball rolling. But there has been labour governments since so they are equally complicit – at not rocking the boat, or doing anything about the cesspool as its is perceived for the best you do not rock the pigs trough when they are snout deep in it.

Deregulation is Trumps answer crackpot scheme – this will not go/end well.

Anyhows how did all em trials go for those complicit in the market crash...

Still waiting on that link boscox so where is it?

Oh racist little minds. What is the yardstick? What is it best to have. You don't understand how to frame an argument and neither does the moose.
