No, he played a very likeable "man's man" obsessed with power tools and who ran a TV featuring them (that's the sitcom premise).
I can't speak for his politics or later work -- haven't seen it.
His show, "Last Man Standing," is enjoyable. I watched the first few season's. There is a "Michael Landon" feel to it.
I have no idea what his politics are. I really do not check into those things for actors or authors. Actually, I do not usually ask other people about their politics either.
I liked him in much of his stuff, he made me laugh, his politics werent an issue, they still arent, I cant force him to be right[:D][:D]...whats the big deal.
