Cosmetically. They're knees - they do their job, but that's it. They're just 'men's knees' - knobbly. The knees of the Thais pictured here, though - utterly 'feminine', in my view. (I put 'feminine' in inverted commas because I'm not even sure there is always a clear structural difference between men's and women's knees. Whatever difference there is might be down to height, bone-density or something else.)
Anecdote time, just because:
I met a man at a BDSM venue once who told me that his wife had surreptitiously fed him oestrogen (that she'd been prescribed by the doc) for some months before he'd finally found out what was happening. The first obvious sign was his growing breasts - at first, the doc thought it would 'just go away'. After some while they'd got too big for that to be plausible.
His wife admitted it to him when he interrogated her. He didn't press charges, though - he said he found it a fascinating experience. The oestrogen had caused very strong mood swings - these, though, he thought were 'educational'. Myself, I think I'd stick with LSD.
