Totally biased reporting - as expected by the Express who also carry doom and gloom about extreme weather that never fucking happens.

It's hi-lighting several things, not the usual 'body shaming' that's normally referred to on here.
They even refer to men not growing beards as a type body shaming. WTF??

Nice try bozo but no cigar.

Do you have a really shitty, hard right, and rather xenophobic newspaper in Singapore that wants to turn the cultural clock back half a century to eliminate all of the stuff in the modern world its editorial staff and target audience resent?
Because if you do, then that's the local equivalent of The Express: as a newspaper it's pretty much only there to make the Mail look a bit classier by comparison.

That's because you don't live in a western culture.

I read the article and I can't imagine that it's wrong. RM definitely has issues with women, but that doesn't mean that women are always victims or are perfectly innocent little angels who never do anything wrong, who are rarely superficial or who could never succumb to unrealistic expectations defined by the media in terms of who they choose to enter a relationship with.

I also think that men are expected to be tougher or not care so much if someone calls them fat, short, bald, etc.

A byproduct of telling men over and over that 'they have it so easy' is that when they fail, they can't fall back on the whole 'discrimination' thing and can see themselves as even more worthless for having failed when everyone tells them that they should have no problems succeeding.

People who believe this could also be more inclined to show less compassion and less understanding towards them than they would to someone who failed but can fall back on the 'discrimination' argument, even if discrimination wasn't truly a factor.

This whole phenomenon of disenfranchised men, stuck between the perception of being 'kings of the world' and the reality of growing socioeconomic imbalance is part of how we get to someone like Trump and the rise of fascist movements that promise to empower traditional masculinity in society.

I already believe women are more shallow than men - I read the article and have no real thoughts one way or the other regarding the efficacy of it. They did choose particular facts to bring to the fore.
