SunDominant -> Syria Begins (4/6/2017 6:28:12 PM)

The United States has launched Tomahawk missiles at an Assad regime target.

Looks like we ended up with Hillary as President after all. [8D]

Somewhat. President Trump seemed somewhat emotional after he received his briefing on the chemical attack, the effect on the infants etc

Sort of a female-ish trait

Hillary is more like a snake in my opinion though

Ack! I actually laughed out loud, quite inappropriately, when I read your post. Unfortunately there was no choice of a non-interventionist candidate this time around.

Better to help make their home country safer, than to import members of the cult that causes so many problems there, and thereby enable that sort of thing happen to our babies here.

If "liberals" really cared about the victims of Muslims they wouldnt be so attached to that cult and constantly propagandize on its behalf

Real0ne -> RE: Syria Begins (4/6/2017 9:19:28 PM)

we need to raise churchill and sienhower from the grave.

Oh right, compassion and basic human decency are female-ish traits.
I guess that's why you avoid them at all costs.

Do you also consider insight, intelligence and logic to be feminine?
Because I've noticed you also tend not to reflect these traits in your posts.

I am not enamoured with the thought of an attack on a sovereign government's territory but over and above that, I just hope no Russians were killed or injured in that attack.
What would the U.S. do if the Russians hit one of their airbases with a few (50) missiles ? Put it down to collateral damage I suppose ?

It wasn't a Russian base.

But anyways, did this hypothetical US base launch illegal chemical weapons attacks against American minorities?

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Syria Begins (4/7/2017 12:08:00 AM)

So far they seem o be taking it relatively calmly. Let's hope Putin has more brains and self-control than Trump, otherwise we could all end up glowing in the dark

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Syria Begins (4/7/2017 12:10:23 AM)

The Russians had planes on that base and no the U;S didn't launch chem weapons but they DID launch an airstrike on a sovereign government that just might be illegal in international law. I have no idea. I just wish our blokes had been pulled out of their a long time ago.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Syria Begins (4/7/2017 12:19:30 AM)

sorry, I am tired and misspelt ' there' as ' their' ......................I am not trying to start an argument about this but to me, it looks like it could turn nasty. One bullet was all the excuse needed to start one horrific war

klmpong -> RE: Syria Begins (4/7/2017 12:22:03 AM)

and the stupidity of the left just keeps droning on...........

Total suspension of reality.

They should be institutionalized.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Syria Begins (4/7/2017 12:28:33 AM)

The second syllable of your name is very descriptive of your opinions kampong. Maybe I am stupid but I am far from ignorant and when ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise, so you are definitely not one indulging in folly

LOL-- Putin most certainly has both.
I really can't imagine a nuclear war starting over this.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Syria Begins (4/7/2017 1:16:17 AM)

Like I said, the excuse for starting one war was one bullet. A lousy excuse but it worked.

The air strike seems to be getting support from most western allies (Japan, Australia, UK, etc)... which is actually kind of important since Trump is such a colossal fuckup in the foreign relations department. Maybe he will end up ditching the neo-fascism and destructive isolationism and go back to spreading American values. Not that I actively support imperialism, but it's better than curling into a ball and watching Putin remake Europe in his own image. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I think that basic human rights are important for everyone, and are worth fighting for. If Trump did this because he couldn't stand seeing dead children, then that is probably the best reason anyone could ever have for doing it-- of course, it remains to be seen if this will stop Assad from doing it again.

The idea that Putin is someone who should be appeased and feared just doesn't sit right with me. I think he is even more of a threat when we cower in fear and do nothing. I mean, he has already attacked the US during the 2016 election, and now we have a president who has no business being president.

My biggest fear was that he was holding Trump over a barrel and that the US would be so weak that the entire western world would collapse under Putin's neo-fascist wave, which Trump unapologetically rode throughout his campaign... but now it seems that Kushner or the generals or whoever is having a much bigger influence on him.

I definitely support defusing the tensions with Russia, but it's not like Putin is innocent, or that this isn't part of a much larger situation. I'm actually far more worried about what will happen when the full truth about the 2016 election comes out.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Syria Begins (4/7/2017 1:33:48 AM)

you make solid points there heavyblinker. Let's just hope it doesn't come to a head to head contact and I understand what you mean about the truth of that election.....................it could cause total upheaval in your country in so many ways I guess.
