San Bernardino shooting: Boy, 8, and two adults dead at California primary school

Two adults and a child have been killed in a shooting in a classroom of a primary school in San Bernardino, California, police say.

The suspect shot and killed his estranged wife, a teacher, and wounded two children who were behind her, one of whom died of his wounds.

He then turned the gun on himself, police said.
Police chief Jarrod Burguan described the incident as a suspected "murder-suicide" attempt.

The gunman, named as 53-year-old Cedric Anderson, had gained entry to the school as a visitor and kept his weapon concealed until he opened fire in the classroom where 15 children with special needs were being taught, authorities said.

He killed his wife Karen Elaine Smith and fatally wounded eight-year-old Jonathan Martinez, who was airlifted to hospital but later died.

A nine-year-old pupil remains in hospital in a stable condition, the Los Angeles Times reported.

But look on the bright side, only 3 dead in this one. You American jackals and your boomsticks.

Well maybe, but I doubt it. The NRA "Shoot Your Ex" competition is a relatively minor division, and shooting yourself too would be an automatic disqualification.

This is tragic.

I don't know the current statistics, but the last study I read, of the women killed by domestic partners or ex-partners; about 53% +\- are with firearms (the larger percentage of which are hand guns.)

Thousands of applications for gun ownership are denied because of misdemeanor domestic violence on the applicants record. However, many cases of domestic violence are under-reported.

The other 47% +\-, I haven't read any data on, but not having a gun didn't prevent the other almost 50% murders by the domestic partner/ex-domestic partner.

The last report I read was dated early 2000's. Tighter gun laws, in this instance won't help until victims of domestic violence start reporting the abuse, but unfortunately the risk of murder is higher when the abuse is reported or the victim leaves.

It is tragic. There is no argument for or against guns that can be won in the cases of domestic violence. The killer took his own life, so I can't really see how any justice can be found. The entire situation is heartbreaking.

Wow, a moment of sanity, don't you know that such things are not approved of in threads like this.
Not only that but (particularly in Ca) there was no legal way for him to own a gun.
Is there something in the water in that part of Ca?

Well, at least this worthless excuse of a life form is dead.

Seriously, the idea that anyone is willing to basically consider bystander children as collateral damage in some stupid domestic dispute is sickening. How can someone get to that point?

It's based upon the lessening of the value of human life. It's a side product of anthropomorphism and silly little things like: "The more I learn about humans, the more I like my cats."

It's the belief that humans are at the "bottom of the scale", when it comes to moral sophistication.

It springs from the belief that it's okay to kill a human baby that is 2/3 gestated, but if we did that to a dolphin baby, it'd be wrong.

In other words: The world is completely inside out and fakakta.

The US are stupid and everyone else in the world and every other country is smarter than the USA!

News!

This doesn't happen anywhere else in the world!

Thanks for the news of what heretofore previously unknown, thanks for filling us in, etc., WhippetShire.

Ignore the 100,000 domestic protesters as at Bush II's invasion of the ME, across several US cities,. But oh, what would the US do without Scotts or Englanders telling us what is going on here?

Lady Demura.................Believe me, it's easy to get to that point. show me a war where women and children were anything BUT collateral damage and if you think about it, it means the soldiers or whatever who did the deed had been trained to the point that that is how they felt. This is one of the reasons I wake up screaming and sweating in the night and think maybe I should go and find myself a place in the jungle along with the other brain twisted members of my fraternity. I won't escape my devils but at least I won't inflict them on others.

What is your point?

State it.

BTW, look at whom is actually being responded to, not just who's response it that happened to follow yours in the line-up.

None of the afore was directed at you.

What I will say, though, is that I find it hilarious that some treat the US as a pinata with the cheap shots, when they have no clue what it's like to be a country as big as this one which yet somehow clings to whatever temporarily (I hope) distorted notion of 'freedom,' but understands the basic concept nonetheless.

Take a geology class or an evolution class and get a clue. This isn't going to be pretty.

Maybe if there was some indication as to who you were responding too, it would make things easier for a one eyed jack like me. I do apologise for seeming rude but I responded to what appeared to be a slight on myself.
My point was made. collateral damage happens in all wars and similar violent situations and it is easy to train somebody to accept it as that. Lady Demura asked. I told her.

Sigh. I do see your point. Political leaders do accept this sort of thing in war. Accepting this sort of thing in a domestic dispute is really something different, I wonder if it might have been more than collateral damage. If someone just kills their wife it doesn't usually make the national news. Makes me not want to hear whatever his dispute was with her that he thought deserved national attention...

Whatever it was, moving on to someone else was the better answer...

I agree Lady and I am really intrigued by what Edwird said, basically because I am what people laugh at as being a 'Detectorist' and geology could be helpful

My initial response was to Wicked, not to you. ('You need to find someone else to pat you on the head).

The way to figure out who is responding to whom is to look at the lower right corner, the (in reply to) thing, there.

So now that we've been all mixed up, we still find a way to get across to each other, do we not?

Your input has always meant much here, in any case. You stay silent for so long, though salient when you finally deign to speak, and I'm just an idiot blurting everything out.

I would be friends Edwird.......................I stay silent, rather like the child everybody thought was dumb for the first ten years of it's life. When it eventually spoke and people asked why it had been silent so long, it responded "I never saw anything worth talking about before." I see no sense in responding to the rabid 'head the cannonballs' like bosco, termynator, notaclue, and others. They argue from no standpoint about stupid non-facts that they have fixed in their tiny minds as truths and they will never be convinced of another standpoint, so why bother? Their minds are made up, so why confuse them with facts ? I also see no point in running down America, or Russia or Outer Bloody Mongolia. They have there borders; let them do what they wish within them. It's their own problem and how should I be so arrogant as to tell them they are stupid or brainless. Oh boy !!! you should see the fuck ups I have made over the years !!!! LOL
