I think it's been well established legally that the "I was only following orders" defense doesn't work.

It has also been well established that those who give the order are just as culpable as those who follow them.

Not always.

Neither are you. What is your point?

I agree which is why I was so mad at the left for telling the little pukes that if trump was elected it meant it was acceptable to be racist. Now I understand that they really wanted to win the election and were willing to say and do anything it took to accomplish that, but perhaps they should have stopped and thought about what spreading the message might actually accomplish. And while most folks knew that was bullshit, the ignorant racists seem to have taken it to heart. Now we have to fight that much harder to force them back under the bridge where they came from. But keep blaming trump for all the racists in the world. It only makes the left look like idiots while the right wins elections.

I guess you missed the part where Trump repeated practically everything that the newer 'softer' white nationalist movements have been saying verbatim. Trump didn't create racism (straw man), he just legitimized it when he used it in his campaign.

I knew there was going to be spin coming, but I didn't anticipate just absurd it would get.

that's possible. the left was spewing so many lies mixed in with the clowns bullshit that I stopped listening after a while. What a shame they didn't stick to the crap he actually said and did and maybe they wouldn't have lost all credibility. And then we had them claiming anyone who disagreed with them or criticized Obama was racist so much like the little boy who cried wolf, folks stopped listening to that also. And they wonder why they lost.

Except this was something the white nationalist, like many people on this board, was dying to do.
All he needed to hear was that it's acceptable. It's also why Trump is responsible for the recent upswing in hate crimes.

Trump effect FTW.

I think there's a lot of blame to share all the way around.

The key point in the end is that racism is alive, well, and in some quarters, rampant. The rest is symptomatic.

Frankly, we as a nation aren't where we thought we were. That's worth learning, even if the lesson was harsh.

Yes it is alive and it's actually being talked about which is a good thing. In fact getting people to talk about race and other issues might be the only good thing to come out of electing the clown.

It'd be nice if the problem could be discussed without some fuckwit stirring up trouble first, wouldn't it?

The best thing to come out of trumps election is the fact that thousands of people are being motivated to run for office in the future.
The fact that a trump "thug" is using Trumps own words to justify his assault action is being ignored or obfuscated.

Of course he must be a lefty in name only
