North Korea 'ready to sink' US aircraft carrier Vinson North Korea is "ready to sink" a US aircraft carrier heading for the peninsula, state media have said. A commentary in the Rodong Sinmun newspaper warned that the USS Carl Vinson could be sunk "with a single strike". A battle group headed by the Vinson is expected off the peninsula this week. It was despatched by President Donald Trump amid a warning that US "strategic patience" over the North's nuclear ambitions had come to an end. Tension also rose after a recent failed missile test by the North and a massive military parade showing off its latest hardware. Timeline of recent tensions 8 April: The US military orders a navy strike group to move towards the Korean peninsula 11 April: North Korea says it will defend itself "by powerful force of arms" 15 April: North Korea puts on a huge military parade - complete with missiles - to mark 105th birthday of the nation's founding president, Kim Il-sung. Meanwhile US Vice-President Mike Pence arrives in South Korea 16 April: North Korea conducts a rocket test, but it fails 17 April: Senior North Korean official tells the BBC the country will continue to test missiles "weekly" and Mr Pence warns North Korea not to "test" Donald Trump 18 April: It emerges the US Navy strike group was not heading towards North Korea when US officials suggested it was

I wasn't talking about the parades....few threads on here regrading that one even I referred to some of their stuff as an empty (tin) can of beans More their ideology and the game of chicken - even I know they cannot be allowed the bomb - not that they have a functioning delivery system...but they are working on both in the manner known as unstoppable. I am not sure how much fuel they have or where they get there ore form (anyone?) If there was going to be a coup within it would already have happened....not quite impossible still, but it should have already occurred. I am long on the record as saying that regime could, and should, be taken out quickly.

And their 6 spitfires ;) I would imagine a kite could take out all of their aerial force in a couple of minutes. Hell I could probably do it with a couple of paper aeroplanes from haggis land

And, if he feels the US is coming for him and/or his nuclear program, he may feel he has nothing to lose and is forced to take action. Here hopefully China will be influential. They don't want us in N. Korea either. Meanwhile, Russia has sent troops to its small border with N. Korea. China has also sent troops to its border with N. Korea. A new refugee crisis is in the making.

Got a point, there. But the Japanese 70 years ago were 100 times more competent than today's N. Korea. Which, if you think about it, might prove your point even more.
