~ fast reply ~ I work at home some days, but most days find me in the office. The job I just applied for will allow me to work from home 1-2 days a week and how wonderful that will be. Years ago I was part of a start up (from the very beginning of the company) and before we actually had an office lease we all worked out of our homes. It had its plusses and minuses. It was very convenient to get up, get coffee, and mosey across the hallway to my home office, sit down in my robe (um yeah, my robe) and start working. The problem is, I was always at work! I found myself working all the time. I lived at my job, as opposed to working at my home. It took discipline to not work. If I would go into the office to pay bills or do anything personal, I would inadvertantly end up working. I had to set parameters for myself - as in no working before 7am or after 7pm. I do that now, to some degree. With my laptop, I have access to work all the time. Work email is always up (through VPN) and I always answer it. I will work from home as often as I can now. Too many other things in life keep me from going overboard again.
