ORIGINAL: Musicmystery It's kind of an irrelevant point, since what do they get for those taxes is the next question. But anyway, despite American mythology, we are not the highest taxed nation on Earth. In fact, we aren't even in the top 27: http://www.businessinsider.com/wef-27-countries-with-the-highest-tax-rates-in-the-world-2016-2 But my point is. The benefits that American get is even less than my country. Yet they pay higher taxes than us. So the tax that you pay, you aren't getting your money's worth of things that you should be entitled to, as part of those taxes that you paid. And your link there seem to measuring corporate tax, and not personal income tax. Before you get too smug, let's compare Singapore's military to the US military, and the reality that much of Singaporean security is a by-product of US navy patrols and the Chinese military. Shit costs money in the real world.
