Only a mentally deficient cretin would state/claim that guns stop/lower crime. I can’t help notice it’s the usual suspects chucking out their lying garbage

Well Peon - surprised it took them that long to work that out although they are probably stockpiling for simultaneous hits, opening their own gun shops etc

Every time a thread on guns happens Annie.

Yeah. And every time I show stats that gun-toters who say it's a good thing are in denial.
There's always Bama and the likes of you trying to defend the attrocious deaths by guns.

You can't fix stupid.

Yes yes yes, everyone who doesn't do exactly what you do is stupid. You've gone over that dozens of times as well. And not just in gun threads.

I don't consider unnecessary deaths because a culture won't change to be stupid.
I consider the intransigent culture to be stupid.

Dozens of times?? Hardly.
All I've been qouted are stats that support my premise and nothing to the contrary.
Obviously not in any way that can be understood.
Especially when I've shown endless stats that a gun society is dangerous to life.
Your stats are deplorable for what is supposed to be a civilised society.

Gun checks?? Try here - one of many examples of how people buy guns without any checks.

Except that the stats that you and every other anti gun person quotes lumps all firearm related deaths under ONE general heading, which is like lumping all automobile related deaths under one topic when discussing drunk driving accidents.

When gun related deaths are broken down by intent or accident, the facts are drastically different, again as when you break down automobile related deaths.

When you look at gun related crime stats, the United States falls to 18th in the western hemisphere and 25th world wide. And those stats include countries where private firearm ownership is illegal and punishable by either death or freaking years in prison.

Finally, more than a few of the non-American anti gun proponents hail from a country which is one of the most surveilled countries in the free world, Great Britain, which from an American stand point is a violation of individual rights.

While firearm ownership does have its problems, the United States still has the most regulations of any country allowing private gun ownership.

Yes, my friend who frequents gun shows said background check only. Buy and walk out.

That shouldn't happen. I'm surprised it does.

Why shouldn't it happen? I go to gun shows and purchase firearms. I'm law abiding, my guns are registered, I've passed the required background checks and been declared safe and sane. You tell me why I shouldn't be able to leave the premises with my purchase.

Well let me pose a question :

If you are say out in the garage and some guy comes up and wants to rob you, regardless of whether he is armed or not, and you pull out a gun and he runs away, do you call the cops ?

This is the US and I tell you, I bet most people don't. As long as they didn't have to pull the trigger they usually want to keep their mouth shut. Like me, I go out to the garage to smoke pot. the cops come and ask "what do I smell here ?", of course I answer "Lumber". But I do not need the hassle of talking to them and I do not need the hassle of a dead body either. I wouid have to call the kid to dig a hole, and I can't count on him in the middle of the night because he works days.

And there are crimes prevented just by the perp knowing you (or someone) is armed. Show me how many armed robberies took place at police stations. I know one happened at a gun store a few years back but that was a fluke. Another place is certain bars. they have a law now, which I think could be fought on Constitutional grounds, that you can't bring a gun to a bar. But armed robberies are still very rare at like biker bars because they like me, simply do not care what is legal and what is not. If the guy who shoots you goes to jail for thirty days and has to pay a fine, you are just as dead.

Getting caught killed or maimed is what prevents crime here. This is not a civilised society. We are an arrogant and spiteful people. Other countries are a bit different. What's ore their governments have learned that it is easier to manage people who are happy and content. The US government seems to want to do the opposite, and this is both parties, everyone. You get a job with the government here most people get on a power trip. Cops are the worst when it happens to them. Licensed to kill, and with attitude, and hatred.

But if anyone want to say we should not have guns, ask why the police have them. There is a reason.

We have the same reason.

T^T

It is perfectly legal to prohibit guns on private property...Re: Repub National Convention.

Termyn8or -> RE: So Much for the gun owners dont stop crime.... (5/6/2017 12:00:52 PM)

It shouldn't happen because we all need to give up our rights because some people are paranoid.

Forget trying to convince them of anything, they are irrational. Bottom line, come and get them. You will get them lead part first. I know I die then but I will take as many of these assholes with me as possible. In this country, it is lawful to use firearms to protect your rights.

And these people in other countries who think they know what's best for us can go fuck themselves. I have already invited them to come and visit some choice neighborhoods in the US. They won't. They'll say "Well there are places you just don't go". Bullshit, you go wherever the hell you want.

Street gangs have guns. All sorts of sociopaths and worse have guns. Dirty cops have guns. Crazy people have guns.

You have to be a stupid cretin to give up your gun in an environment like this.

I think in such a society though, that some steps should be taken in the way of gun safety. We have all heard about kids getting their hands on them and possibly shooting someone, not knowing what is going to happen when they pull the trigger. Well I think that in grade school there should be gun safety classes, mainly to teach them not to touch it. This should include the shooting and killing of a small animal, preferably something "cute" so they can see what a piece of lead can go to flesh. Then in highschool, marksmanship and more familiarity with the different types of rifles and pistols and all that, with emphasis placed on how to unload them and not to have one in the chamber thinking it is safe just because you removed the magazine. (that's right, it is not a clip folks)

And these foreigners, I give up. Stay in your gun free country. Maybe a criminal who is tough and can fight will kick the shit out of you one of these days. We got plenty of them here. All they do in prison is work out and spar. And they get out and there are still no jobs.

Thing is, we got alot of people who need to be shot. Thus the need for guns. And law enforcement are the biggest killers, want to take their guns away ?

The last word is that nobody is changing anyone's mind. I have been shot, I am not gunshy at all. It seems that people who are really paranoid about guns have not been around them much. I remember my Uncles teaching my Aunt how to shoot when I was about five years old. We went into the basement and bags of newspapers ready for recycling made and excellent target, just draw a couple of concentric circles on it. When I was taught it was a can. It was a .357 Magnum and I was warned that it had quite a kick. I found the kick to be quite manageable actually.

With 200 million guns in this country, shut up and call me when there are like a million murders in a year. Until then your statistics are insignificant.

T^T

WickedsDesire -> RE: So Much for the gun owners dont stop crime.... (5/6/2017 12:08:41 PM)

I really dont want to keep coming into the gun thread posts all the times with actual facts and figures but I will if i feel that I have too.

Crime is higher in America no matter which way you break it down, rape etc than comparable nations - another invalid arguments.

Jeff what has gun deaths got to do with automobile accidents or death by bee sting (625 per anum in America if anyone every wondered) - invalid.

what fuking idiots are citing 500 000-3 000 000 make yourself known now, as I had a bit of a read at this one earlier and forgot who said that.

Guns kill, and the more easily accessible they are the higer the carnage rate is

Still, I always wanted to know
1. What is a responsible gun owner
2. When does that responsible gun owner become irresponsible

http://www.gunviolencearchive.org/ do the fuking maths for yourself

Oh and the NRA chipped in with $30 million to trumps campaign hence that speech he gave last week to 10 000 gun nuts ( i actually had no real issue with his speech - he in essence said nothing) Not that I am quite sure how you can make guns more prolific

CaptR -> RE: So Much for the gun owners dont stop crime.... (5/6/2017 12:38:06 PM)

You're lumping all crime in America with gun violence? Rethink that. America has more crime than any other nation? Rethink that. Statistics show otherwise. You're on the internet, look it up.
I'm a member of the NRA and damn glad my money is going someplace that'll retain my rights as a law abiding citizen.

I said that, because I thought they were breaking state laws. As I said later, I had a brain fart and forgot that each state has its own regulations.

To be fair though, Jeff, though we're surveilled a lot here in the UK, we don't get our brains blown out by cops all the time, like you lot your side of the Atlantic seem to do. I know which I'd prefer, individual-rights-wise.

Let's see, 321,000,000 people in U.S. 721 killed by police.

http://www.gunviolencearchive.org

721/321,000,000 = 0.000002

If you stay out of Chicago, Detroit, DC, gang neighborhoods that number effectively goes to zero. (All places run by liberals for the past three generations)

People killed by being shot by UK police, 4 in 2016. Population of UK 65,000,000

4/65,000,000 = 0.00000006.

You may have a slight point. But if you're here, just stay away from where liberals have power and it'll be just like home.

"slight point", LMAO
Indeed
so many 0"s must be clouding your mental agility
The UK is one fifth the population of the US(give or take a million or two)
so one fifth of 721 is 144.2 to equal the US
Actual numbers shot by police in the UK is 4 NOT 144
slight point indeed.

oh and....this is the list from 2016
deadliest cities for per capita

Ps if you take out gangs drugs related killings and populous cities, in the UK, it reduces it to almost zero,
not so in your case.
