Greta75 -> Is it appropriate for Obama to Openly do an Ad to Plead with France to Vote for Macron? (5/5/2017 6:58:08 PM)

Seriously...., WTF?

If ANY Foreign President or x-Foreign Presidents does an Advertisement to plead with my country folks to support any candidate. Isn't that blatant Foreign influence and interference in another country's election.

I don't want the Dem party to ever whine about Russians interfering with the American Elections again.

Obama is interfering with France Election now!

He can donate 2Mil to help his own country. It's HIS OWN country. And Home State!

But as an Ex-President, to interfere in another country's election.

That's definitely not right!

But perhaps his interference will anger the French and cause Macron to lose.

When you stop sticking your nose in US business, I'll write to Obama and share your concerns.

Its okay Greta

He's an alt left radical

Just like alt left trash can call people "gay" over political differences, suck Muslim ass despite their treatment of women, anything Obama does is immaculate

Alt left radicals have no compass. Literally anything goes in the pursuit of globalist 1% power

Greta, he is no longer the leader of a powerful nation, nor is he using that nations massive intelligence sources to influence events in a foreign country. He is a private citizen using nothing but his reputation and celebrity status. World of difference.

"But as an Ex-President, to interfere in another country's election. "

The key word there is EX....he is an EX-President. And if a candidate in a foreign race wants to bring in an EX-POTUS that's up to the candida in that country and the rules governing elections in THAT country. In the US we have former Presidents campaigning for their party and its candidates all the time. If someone in another country wants to hire any former POTUS to endorse them, and its legal, then I say go for it. If you have a problem with it, talk to your elected representative in your own country about it to see about changing it.

He still collects a paycheck from the US Government, doesn't he?

Dont worry, the reps are already trying to stop his pension.
but not for the french election.

That has no relevance.

If Spec-4 Snuffy gets his government pension check from serving in the military for 20 years, and is asked to make an election video, he is welcomed to as well. Because at that point he is a private citizen.

this logan act?
The Logan Act (1 Stat. 613, 18 U.S.C. ยง 953, enacted January 30, 1799) is a United States federal law that details the fine and/or imprisonment of unauthorized citizens who negotiate with foreign governments having a dispute with the United States.

I have no influence in your American politics. No Americans give a shit about what some Singaporean Nobody says. So I can comment all I want about it, I have no social responsibility, nobody cares or will take seriously about anything I say.

BUT Obama is a Recent President of the United States! His influence to sway votes carries alot of weight. And for him to do it in a way to make sure the message gets out to ALL French People means he knows he can exert influence on the outcome.

Former Presidents campaigning for their party is DIFFERENT from Formal President campaigning for Another Country's party. Seriously the comparison is not the same as after becoming Ex-Presidents, they are still members of their own party and are still part of it. And I think this is unprecedented.

No other country Ex-leaders ever come up openly like that to attempt to use his influence to sway the elections in any other country before.

Tax write off on that $64 million he is being paid to write a book that will sell a few thousand copies. Probably a good friend runs the organization and Obama is paying off markers.
