And the show begins.

Yep. Because Americans are drama junkies.

Think the drama queens will riot when the special prosecutor comes back and says that the Democrats did a shit job of protecting Podesta's emails, and President Trump wasn't in any way involved in their stupidity?

Who violated the law and leaked the info to the press?

Trump the President of the US, who has authority to release just about any info he wishes, may have said something that might tick off a third party, but never mentioned the third party. So some lesser individual who did not have authority to pass on that information and may not have had a right to that information did give that information to the press who would spread it far and wide, and somehow that leaker is noble? I don’t get the thought process.

No, the president of the United States does not have the authority to release any information he pleases, there are regulations in place dictating who can relay classified information to whom.

Any classified information needing a code word authorization is eyes only and cannot be dissimulated by anyone regardless of what office they hold.

As for 'leakers' there is an interesting twist to this.

If the leak does not actually included classified information or falls under the 'whistle blower' laws and regulations, the most that can happen is they be fired.

For example, 'deep throat' who gave the information to the reporters about Watergate did nothing illegal by passing on the information.

Basically, the individual who passed on the fact that President Trump gave highly classified information to the Russians while not actually explaining in detail what the information was in its entirety did not commit a criminal act.

The simple truth is that half the bullshit that is pulled that is either unethical or illegal coming out of Washington comes from leakers who feel that something needs to be done, and therefore forces the issue by giving it to the press.

And it is perfectly legal although it may cost them their job.

Yes the president can declassify anything or name anyone to the classified list and share information with them.

http://time.com/4780593/president-trump-russia-declassified/

You might want to rethink that, the president cannot pass on classified information to a representative of a foreign government unless that information would prevent a large scale attack.

Especially if that intel is code word cleared as was the information he passed on to the Russians.

In other words, your favorite jackass just did EXACTLY what Snowden did, John Anthony Walker did, as well as Aldrich Ames, and 33 other American government employees who passed classified information on to someone else.

The only way this is allowed is if he has the approval of the agency head AND the all of his security advisors, and it has to be in writing, filed before the release of the information, and the members of the joint intelligence committee from BOTH parties are notified in advance.

From the constitution:
The President, Vice President, and all civil Officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors

Of course, when the news of Snowden's leaks first hit the press, your esteemed President Trump called him a traitor.

So, what is so different about that and now, when Trump clearly did not go through the process to clear the release of information?

Now, of course Trump is president.

And of course, he is using his cliche double standard.

When someone else leaks information, it is wrong and a criminal act.

When his staff or he himself leaks information, it is perfectly acceptable.

When Comey released the statement about reopening the inquiry into Hillary's email server, he was doing a public service, according to Trump.

In other words, you cannot ethically condemn or criticize someone for doing the same fucking things you do.

You people blasted Obama for that shit, but when Bush did it, it was fine.

In other words, you people are fucking hypocrites of such proportions that it boggles the mind. You expect Democrats to uphold standards you clearly do not expect your own party members to adhere to.

In the last election I did not vote for Trump, I did not vote for Hillary, I felt neither were qualified to be elected sanitation supervisor, let alone president of the United States.

My reasons for not voting for Hillary are simple, she is a morally bankrupt individual with an absolute zero sense of self worth. If she had considered more than the 'political impact' when the news of Bill getting blowjobs in the oval office, she would have hired a divorce lawyer and left his happy ass.

And considering how many times he cheated on her in the past, and the proof was there, all she could see was the political image.

She is nothing more than a political whore with absolutely no redeeming qualities.

As for Trump, I didnt vote for him because he lets his mouth over run his brain and makes promises to do things that are unethical, unconstitutional, and just plain fucking stupid.

Add to that that he refuses to take advice, will not allow even constructive criticism, and lets his galactic sized ego run the show, he proves nothing more than he does not have the common sense or self control to make the important decisions.

The worst of all this, if a qualified person with common sense, innate ability at diplomacy, and a high ethical standard were to ever run for president, he wouldn't make it past the first primary.

For days now Bosco, Nnanji and all the other Trump apologists have been insisting that there is no evidence of a Russian connection, of Trump spilling classified information to the Russians or any of the other charges levelled against the orange disaster and his administration.

And lo and behold! The DOJ has pulled the mat from under their feet in the most spectacular fashion. By appointing a special prosecutor the DOJ is tacitly saying that there is enough evidence here to warrant further and thorough investigation by an independent prosecutor insulated against political pressure. Bosco et al's endless denials, deflections and abuse has been exposed as just so much hot air. They have had their eyes so firmly closed against any possibility of wrongdoing by the orange disaster or his minions that their credibility (such as it was) has been totally shredded by the DOJ's actions.

You would think that in these circumstances some people would slink off into the nearest dark corner to hide until the fuss dies down and people forget their inane defence of the indefensible. Or if they were people of principle, they would readily admit that they have read it wrong, apologise and promise to do better in the future. But no, Bosco retreats to fallback position # 496 and tries to implicate Podesta in the mess that is Trump's making and Trump's making alone (more deflection). Tamaka blames the American people, whom she pathetically insists are "drama junkies" hooked on the fiction that there is a Russian connection. It seems that the seriousness of the situation and the gravity of the cloud over Trump's administration is yet to impact their partisan consciousness.

One wonders at what point will these people admit they have got it wrong, and that the orange disaster is presiding over an Administration so inept, directionless and catastrophe-prone it makes Bush43 look like a genius level politician and the greatest statesman ever. One wonders if they are so blinded by their ideological attachment to the orange disaster that no such point exists.

Why should they? The republicans didn't when the seventy million and six months they wasted investigating allegations* against Clinton produced nothing prosecutable.

*(All of the allegations, even the really stupid and trivial ones)

Musicmystery -> RE: Special "counsel", appointed by Rod Rosenstein. (5/18/2017 5:44:46 AM)

They'll stall until they have some bizarre reason why this is all the fault of the Democrats, they'll talk it up endlessly on the Sunday morning shows, and take their chances in Nov. 2018.

heavyblinker -> RE: Special "counsel", appointed by Rod Rosenstein. (5/18/2017 8:06:25 AM)

You know, at this point, it's pretty much impossible to imagine things going back to any semblance of normality as long as Trump is in the White House.

He is now being brutally humiliated on a daily basis. It's bad (well, good because he deserves it) enough that he's being totally crushed by media outlets all around the world, but we know that he is also compulsively driven to consume as much of that media as he can. What level of hell is reserved for people who must watch themselves being humiliated, insulted and derided in front of billions of people on a daily basis? Can you actually imagine a torture worse than that?

And not only do you get the sense that the people behind the leaks are concerned or even outraged over his behavior, but you also get the sense that these people truly enjoy humiliating him. Instead of shifting to a management style where he appeases and commands the respect of these people, Trump is breeding more and more anger and resentment... and more leaks. He is on self-destruct at this point. There is simply no way he can continue doing what he is doing and not have to suffer through leaks and scandals, and he is too old and too stubborn and too convinced of his own greatness to stop doing what he is doing.

I don't know how pathological narcissists work, but I have to wonder how much he can take before he is crushed by it all. He's 70 years old, right? Something is going to break inside of him.

Today his ghostwriter speculated that he will find a way to resign... I think that's probably what will happen. Maybe it will be over a health crisis... that might actually make people feel sorry for him, especially if it's brought on by all the stress... but of course he doesn't want to appear weak, so who even knows. Maybe he'll commit suicide on national TV or something.

Musicmystery -> RE: Special "counsel", appointed by Rod Rosenstein. (5/18/2017 9:32:10 AM)

I don't know. For 70 years, he's gotten his feedback from the mirror.

Hard to say what happens next.

The only thing keeping Trump in office is his base.

If he starts to lose their support in the conservative media, this will unravel fast.

He already has the Tea conservatives on edge.

Won't change reality, though.

Even though there is zero reason not to believe that all of this is real, I am so glad my imagination is powerful enough that I can think of more original comments than repeating 'imaginary fantasy world' over and over.
Don't you get bored?

Presidents are elected to four year terms

Leftists may know this, but still imagine and pretend that if they pout really hard about nothing they can have their pantsuit queen installed as president

Pretty funny really

So you think that the socialist leftist Marxist alt-communists believe Hillary can still be president?
Seriously?

So wait... is this you trying to prove that you have an imagination?
