So then we can agree that Bush is a Republican President ...and that he was wrong...right? And since he was the one to start the drone warfare he should get the most criticism between himself and Obama...right? I did not absolve Obama from anything... I only pointed out it was Republican Presidents that invaded Iraq when it MAY not have been necessary for American men and women to put their lives on the line. AND in doing so we should...and you noticed I said WE... meaning all Americans... may bear some responsibility for the deaths of civilians that may have been prevented.

US air strike on IS killed 105 civilians in Iraq's Mosul

The United States has admitted that at least 105 Iraqi civilians were killed in an air strike it carried out in Mosul in March.

US Central Command (CentCom) said it had targeted two snipers from so-called Islamic State (IS) with what it called a "precision-guided munition."

However, the strike detonated explosives that militants had placed in the building, CentCom said.
Civilians sheltering in the lower floors were killed when it collapsed.

CentCom said the death toll included four civilians in another nearby structure.

Eyewitnesses claimed another 36 non-combatants were also in the building, but US authorities said it had "insufficient evidence to determine their status".

CentCom previously said the planes had acted at the request of Iraqi security forces, as coalition forces attempted to wrest control of the city from IS.

A summary of the investigation said those organising the strike "could not have predicted the presence of civilians in the structure prior to the engagement".

The explosives hidden by IS were at least four times more powerful than the weapon used in the air strike, it said.

Initial media reports had placed the casualty estimates as high as 200.

Hundreds of thousands of civilians have fled the northern Iraqi city as the operation to reclaim it has continued.

Thousands of Iraqi security forces, Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, Sunni Arab tribesmen and Shia militiamen, assisted by US-led coalition warplanes and military advisers, are involved in the offensive, which was launched in October 2016.

I didn't say he was wrong either.
And no he doesn't even get most of the blame for drones, Obama gave Iraq to ISIS and then used drone to keep them stired up whithout taken a chance of doing serious damage
And you have an odd view of things, no problem with drones when the have no chance of sparing the innocent.
And why are you more interested in condemming US presidents (only the Republican ones of course) instead of the animals who in this case murdered over 100 innocents.

mnottertail -> RE: US air strike on IS killed 105 civilians in Iraq's Mosul (5/26/2017 2:12:09 PM)

so, the drones W used and the war in Iraq over wmd .....not sure if it is wrong, but Obama using drones was.

I think I see what you did there.

kdsub -> RE: US air strike on IS killed 105 civilians in Iraq's Mosul (5/26/2017 5:18:04 PM)

No Bama the Arab world gave Iraq back...not Obama...That hell whole does not deserve one more drop of American blood... If Bush had not sent us into Iraq in the first place none of this would have come about... at least that is a reasonable assumption.

When Obama pulled out of Iraq before the Iraqis were ready he gave it to ISIS. Remember even he said the war was won when he took over, then he blew it. But I understand that everything wrong in the world has to be blamed on a Republican, and still no one word against the slime that murdered these people, and in case you are confused, that would be ISIS.
BTW we also wouldn't be in this situation if Clinton hadn't ignored one terror attack after another at let Iraq ignore the settlement from the first Gulf War.

I would hope for the last time, Obama exited Iraq according to an agreement to do so made by Bush.

It was President Bush who set the withdrawal date for Americans from Iraq, not President Obama. President Bush signed an agreement that required us to be out by the end of 2011. The Obama administration urged [Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki] to approve our leaving a residual force behind. But Prime Minister Maliki made it clear that he could not get the Iraqi parliament to do that. Not even for five or ten-thousand troops.

“No Higher Honor,” 2011: We’d given quite a lot of ground on issues such as a withdrawal timetable, consenting to the removal of all U.S. forces by the end of 2011, and we even conceded a limited level of Iraqi legal jurisdiction over our troops. Ultimately, the compromises we made proved beneficial because the resulting [Status of Forces Agreement] put the end of the war in sight and left the new U.S. president a firm foundation for a successful conclusion of our presence there. Condoleezza Rice 2011

And we wouldn't have had to do anything more if daddy Bush had gone all of the way to Baghdad in 1991.

Plus, the seeds were sown for ISIS by al-Zarkawi that the CIA emphatically told W to take out before the invasion in 2003 and [he] and Chaney refused.

Oh and republicans are blamed when things go wrong...rightly so.

kdsub -> RE: US air strike on IS killed 105 civilians in Iraq's Mosul (5/26/2017 8:03:06 PM)

Bullshit Bama... how many years did we train their army... I believe you said you were X military how long did you train? There was lack of will and courage not training and equipment. I really do believe the only people they hate worse than each other is the US. They are not worth American lives and Obama understood this... And despite what you like to believe America has no desire to go back into that quagmire and put their children at risk.
