quote:
ORIGINAL: Edwird The US has more millionaires per capita than other countries in the OECD, who themselves have as good or better health care at much lower cost. So there's that shooting yourself in the foot, as per habit. You say that the US can't pay for health care sufficiently. But we have more millionaires than any other country. Both true. And it all flies over your head. US isn't even in top 5 of most millionaire per capital. Singapore beat them on that award! US only has 4.3% of their population as millionaires. Ours is 17%. Hong Kong is even 8.8%. Taiwan is on that list too although losing to the US by a little bit. http://www.therichest.com/rich-list/world/15-countries-with-the-highest-density-of-millionaire-households/ quote:
they see that however screwed up the US is, it's ten times better than back home. It would be very shameful over here, to be proud of people from China and India wanting to live in our country. That is a given, they crave for our citizenship. We feel proud when First World Nations, like British, Australians, Swiss, Dutch, Germans and Americans etc, give up their citizenship to want to live in our country by choice. It shows that we are doing something right in the right direction, when we are competing to be a better place than some of the seemingly best countries in the world. And we are competing to get the best of the other countries to make our country their home. DUH, the whole world is better than India and China in terms of nice place to live. I never said China and India are paradise to live in, but I said Chinese are very good at chasing wealth. No matter where they go in the world. So are the Indians. And they went into the US, and became the richest. If they see opportunity for wealth and money, they are gonna grasp it. It doesn't have to happen within their own country. quote:
They've learned that there is a good life to be had from everyday things, whereas, according to you, the only way to have any decent life in Asia is to be a millionaire. That mentality is as third world as it gets. All or nothing. I never said it was the only way to have a decent life either. You could live like a native indigenous Brazilian with no money necessary at all and live a very happy life if that is what makes you happy. But in a modern world, money is needed for basic needs to be fulfilled. Literally, health care and education. And inflation keeps happening. 1 million dollars these days don't even get you far. Half of it could be thrown away in an Ivy League University for your kid. The other half, in a home for your family. Gawd Forbid there is even medical care to worry about. Think about your age Edwird and how much things used to cost when you were a kid to right now. Well, in my country, the price of a baby milk powder, super essential item for babies, has doubled from $40 per tin to $80 per tin, within 3 years. Poor parents having to feed their babies. But the reason why Trump is voted is obviously because of there is close to 50% of people in the US who feel they are not having a decent life in the US and feel they lack money to have one. To vote for a Billionaire and hope he can solve their problems. Which are mainly financial hardships. In countries like China, they couldn't care less who is government. Who is government does not affect their own life, they believe in their own ability to make their own way. They don't rely on government for anything. And if there is one other thing I do love about china is that is has practically became a whole country of Atheists. Most are not religious at all. It's fantastic to me. That they don't believe in Religion. I can't say the same for my own country. Depending on what race you are, you are most definitely brought up to be into at least one of the religion that is more commonly associated with your race. I love how whenever I meet China people and ask their religion, I never met a person from China who is into any religion so far. It's amazing! Buddhism is almost as good as dead over there. When it should technically be the dominant religion. I'm anti- ALL religion, so feeling quite happy to see a country managed to build a nation of pragmatic people who don't believe in unprovable higher beings anymore. For that, China achieve something even Western nations can't do. It's not easy to eradicate religious ideologies. Personally, China should take helm on the war on Terror! But too bad they can't be fucked to get involve in that. They are the most experienced in making religions go extinct. And doesn't seem to be a bad thing. No Chinese Terrorists so far.
