Oh well. Maybe it's a good thing that the rest of the world will no longer look at the USA as leader in any way. Trump's nailed that one, good and firm.

That's so fucking funny.

The rest of the world will forget this and have their hands out in no time. It's actually going to take them a few times being told "No" before they get it and learn to pull up their big boy pants.

I imagine those pants have to be XXXX large to get them pulled up over your overloaded diapers, big boy.

I had a thought... a what if?

What if Russia is threatening something unless we negotiate?

I have this strange feeling that Russia and China don't need to do a damned thing now. A number of countries seem to be looking in their direction as a possible replacement for America. If so, the American Empire was very short lived *smile*

That's a good question tamaka and I admit to feeling unsure of that. It's just a strange itching I get, similar to what I used to get in the Legion when the dill was about to pickle real bad.
They both seem to be candidates to be the next 'Big Guy on the Block' Though *smile*

I can't imagine Europe favoring Russia over the US especially since a big part of why Trump was an outcast at the G-7 is because he is part of Putin's alt-right/euro-fascist brigade.
They will deal with China, but it's not like they're keen on taking advice from a non-democratic country.

However it's not like the Euro-fascists are done forever... any democracy is only one election away from fascism, and it's not like a Reichstag fire is out of the question.

Still, it would be hard to imagine a collective rejection of the values America has represented for the past 70 years-- America's current divided state is a perfect example of the aftermath of that.
And people are too suspicious of the alt-right people and the world is too globalized for any country to go the Hitler route again.

Putin wants a return to the 'Great Powers' kind of world, where Nazi-esque fascism would be possibly again... but it could never be a global movement-- people wouldn't stand for it.

I love the fact that apparently all of these World Powers seemingly are incapable of independence. You've just stated that all of Europe basically cannot progress forward on their own and that they need a Surrogate for America now that we're no longer holding their hand

You see that time and again, and their self-defeating hysteria is increasing in an ever increasing cacophony of mass madness

As personified by Kathy Griffin targeting Barron Trump the way she did, and as personified by the hate and sheer insanity of the alt left crowd right here on Collarchat

Good point

WHY was the US participation the end-all and be-all

It's because it was us who would be rammed by their figurative truck as we walked the sidewalk, then our throat that was to be metaphorically slashed afterward

"Hate America" has been the alt left's unifying global anthem for a very long time now, and "blame America first" is their guiding philosophy

Its not the be all and end all, the accord was signed last year, by all the countries but 2...
now trump pulled out, breaking yet another treaty, this one for politics, not the world. Selfishness and bombastic bullshit. afraid and terrified. After China you are the highest emitter of pollution. it affects the world.
you can deny all you want, I can just imagine the "re negotiation" terms, LOL
a bit like medical care for all( so far)
Bullshit

I think the US is distancing ourself from Europe because we are better positioned to deal with Russia on our own. The rest of the world is too weak (in power and mindset) and we are better off dealing with Russia in our own strength.

Okay... I just read through the Paris Climate Accord thingy...
and i have to say...

Do people not realize how dangerous that little piece of paper is?

The Accord has no form of enforcement baked into it. There is no Fines, no Punishment, no Law which compels and individual country to comply with their promised agreements. Instead, it is described as being built on a 'Name and Shame' game - in which the Nations that do not meet the promises they make are basically shamed on an International level.

How did any one think this was a good idea?

Not every culture accepts being shamed like the French do...
I can only see this as being a political powder keg...

The Chinese are infamous for thumbing their noses at international agreements

See also the South China Sea

So... We were to be left holding the bag

Good job el presidente wasn't having it then: you people are proving yourselves extraordinarily thin skinned of late. You'd probably rather have a terrorist bombing than somebody in Europe making a cutting remark about you.
