Hodgkinson's criminal record in St Clair County, Illinois, shows many traffic violations, and a call made to police in March of this year complaining that Hodgkinson shot 50 rounds in a wooded area too close to residential homes.
The police report says Hodgkinson had a valid licence for the hunting rifle and was released.

He was charged with multiple counts of domestic battery and aggravated discharge of a firearm in 2006, though those charges were dismissed.
According to court documents, the 2006 altercation took place after Hodgkinson tried to retrieve a 16-year-old girl believed to be his daughter from her friend's house.

The responding officer wrote in his report that the girl said Hodgkinson dragged her by her hair and beat her.
He then allegedly sliced into her seatbelt with a pocket knife and choked her as she tried to drive away.

The girl was a student who lived with Hodgkinson and his wife.

He also allegedly shot at one of her friends with a 12-gauge shotgun and punched another 16-year-old girl in the face.
According to local authorities, the 2006 charges against Hodgkinson were dropped after the victims failed to appear in court.

Yup...just the kind of guy who needs a gun to protect himself and his "family" from all the violent criminals out there....

Punched a 16 year old in the face...and didn't go to jail for it cause the victim didn't show up?

The normal, average every day Bernie supporter would probably have done more damage with a car or a truck out there on that softball field than he did with his rifle

So this happened because he was a violent person, and the law wasn't enforced.
The gun didn't make him do anything.

Kinda Ironic,none of the republicans in attendance had any firearms on them,they all ways spouse the idea that the best defense against gun violence is a good guy with a gun,yet none of them were packing heat for base ball practice...Then again,who the fuck packs heat to go to base ball practice,but isn't that kinda the point,that it's impractical to be armed and responsible for yer own safety at all times when living day to day in a civilized society .

Maybe,just maybe we should pass some gun laws that make sense,and then follow through with enforcing them,instead of allowing a corporate lobby disguised as a rights advocacy group curtail any effort made to discuss it like adults at the legislative level...
