ORIGINAL: thompsonx Very few people of all ethnicities are not interested in making money...so what is your point? Actually you are wrong about this. I think you don't understand how chinese worships money more than any other ethicities I have ever met in my life. Most other ethicities value other things more than money. Culture is always very telling. We are probably the only ethnicity where the only culturally acceptable gift to give during birthdays, weddings, funerals and new born baby gifts is basically cold hard cash. Few other cultures gift cold hard cash for those occasions. Of course we are the only culture where our New year Tradition is about giving cold hard cash out to unmarried people too. Married folks are suppose to give money to unmarried people traditionally for the new year. Like our culture is all about money. I mean, we are the only culture where, if you attending a wedding, you need to pay for the wedding in cold hard cash. Usually averaging 200bux per person. Westerners may flinch at this, but in our culture, generally, the more money you give, the better you look for most things. It's all about the money. It's so calculative if you ever attended chinese weddings or funerals, that they keep a book recording how much money you give when you attend it. With your name and the amount you gave beside it. I mean, imagine this as a western funeral, collecting entrance money before being able to visit the coffin. And again, entrance fee to visit a funeral of your friend or your family is again expected to be at least 80bux and above. quote:
