US Army soldier charged in killing of wife, NY state trooper after domestic dispute. From the link: Army Staff Sgt. Justin Walters, 32, was charged about 4 a.m. Monday with first-degree murder for killing the trooper, Joel Davis, and second-degree murder for killing his wife, Nichole Walters. More or less, the cop died because he was a first-responder to a domestic-violence dispute. By that time, Nicole Walters was already dead. Another woman was critically injured, but survived. Joel Davis died within the hour from responding to the scene. At the time of his demise, Davis left behind a wife and three children. ~~~~~ But this was the cop killing y'all didn't want to talk about. Nobody so much as even mentioned it. Why is that?

i suspect the implied premise is cop killings are only "newsworthy" when issues of "race" (and to some extent, class) are involved.

Others don't want to talk about this be cause every time a cop goes to work he faces this threat. As any cop, a domestic dispute is the worst call to answer.

Oh, that's easy. Because there was no mention made of the colour of anyone's skin, and in a Yankish news story, that means they were all white.
