Are you kidding me?
There are not enough hours in the day for me to explain this one.
Let's just start with attempting to agree on the political/social/economic system.
What social/political/economic systems would prevail?

I am curious, without borders why would we even need passports, citizenship, or countries?
Should the world just be one big country?

We are diametrically opposed on this one.

Just out of curiosity, what's wrong with the idea of the world being just one country, in your opinion?

Does it matter? Perhaps there would be several. And you could choose which one you wanted to participate in.

I agree on some conservative issues, though I will NEVER officially be one.
I like a strong military and I believe in attempting to protect the country that you live in.

I think most normal people want to see their country protected, its hardly only a conservative issue.

I wish people would stop the partisan bullshit and focus on what is best for our country.
Divided we fall
The Democrats, liberals, Republicans and conservatives ALL have serious flaws these days.

In that case you would have to have borders to tell which system was in charge were you were, or do you think that the same block can have 3 systems in charge without total chaos?

bounty44 -> RE: Some humor to lighten things up (8/24/2017 7:09:58 PM)

i agree with the "divided we fall" sentiment, but there is little middle ground between conservatives & libertarians, and today's liberals.

the majority of middle ground can only be found by greatly compromising ones principles.

The Darkside is growing in strength in this one. [:D]

Perhaps, you are just against the title "conservative", because it has been redefined over the years by the left as "racist, xenophobic, small-minded, uneducated" etc.

However, what is today called "conservative", is, in fact what used be be called "liberal". Most US conservatives are classical liberals, while today's "liberals" are simply neo-marxist postmodernist of varying stripes.

If you believe in borders and the nation-state, then they classify you as "conservative and reactionary", and you will get on their list for the re-education camps.

The problem is that much of our "elite" (political, economic and educational) have grown at least comfortable, if not outright rabid in neo-marxist beliefs. This cuts across political parties as well, and is a large part of the oft-named "Swamp" that Trump supporters mention.

There is an ongoing political and social re-alignment in this country, it just that many people (especially in the elites) do not see it, or if they see it understand it, and in any case desperately wish for it to go away.

It won't.

One of the lies leftist spout is moral relativity. What you are describing is exactly that. I'm don't think my daughter or wife should have their vulva sliced off at puberty for instance. With your concept I'd have to ignore my neighbors doing so to their women. I consider dogs and cats pets, not food. The list is endless including extreme religion and political correctness. We have to work on that last one. Making thought a crime by saying "hate" is a crime is BS. Although, many on this board thrive on it. I don't think women should be forced to have abortions after they have their quota of children, nor have to chose to abort or not based on the sex of an unborn child being of less stature in society. I don't think the military of a country should police my thoughts, actions or routine.

I agree with a lot that you stated, with a caveat.
The new corporate liberals are hardly neo-marxist!
Do you know what a corporate liberal is?
Most Democrats fit nicely into that category these days, and I have little to no respect for most of them.

I don't know whether economic systems need necessarily be bound to physical geography anymore.

I take a little from each group, and a lot from no group.
I don't have a dog in this fight, do you understand that?

Most on here, argue and fight ad nauseam, and can't fathom there are people that are not on either side!
Everyone has an opinion these days, why do I need to sit here and judge Neo-marxists?

Can't you see the confusion, chaos and endless fighting?

It would take 100 years to even agree what the local communities were.

Is Canada a community? Are the states 50 communities?
Oh the possibilities and oh the chaos, if nothing else we would wish for the world to be as it is now.
