Hillwilliam -> Good thing the wall hasn;t been built yet (8/31/2017 11:44:48 AM)

It would have blocked the disaster aid from Mexico.

Amazing, that howlers like you have enough brain function to breathe or chew and swallow food

StWrinklemeat -> RE: Good thing the wall hasn;t been built yet (8/31/2017 12:16:08 PM)

They did that with Katrina too. And pay no attention, like its mum, to the shit eating sock of InSanity.

tamaka -> RE: Good thing the wall hasn;t been built yet (8/31/2017 12:24:14 PM)

That was nice of them. Maybe they can take some of their people that don't belong here back home so there will be less people to have to help here.

Greta75 -> RE: Good thing the wall hasn;t been built yet (8/31/2017 12:27:53 PM)

Seriously though.

A wall just means keeping illegals out.

Legal Mexicans are more than welcome!

Like regulating a border to prevent illegals from coming in is just normal procedure for most countries. And not a hostile move towards that country.

Weird that you had to teach him that

I can always count on you to do an amazing imitation of an ignorant troll.

It's like clockwork

Now, is there a possibility that you and your (admittedly) ignorant padawan (her words, not mine) can get on topic or are you just gonna stay under your bridge waiting for billy goats gruff?

MercTech -> RE: Good thing the wall hasn;t been built yet (8/31/2017 4:37:08 PM)

Mexico is chock full of decent people.

"The Wall" is about controlling a disruptive element at the border. There are legal statutes in place regarding immigration. Do you really want the precedent of selectively enforcing the law or do you want the law changed to reflect how you would want it to be?

NAFTA...
There are elements of NAFTA that suck donkey balls. But, the basic concept of free trade between the three North American countries is sound.

One thing that needs to be addressed is safety standards for vehicles crossing from Mexico. That a Mexican trucker can pick up a load in Monterrey and deliver it to the end destination in Beaumont rather than the truck have to be unloaded at the border and loaded into a U.S. truck is a good thing. That the inspection standards of Mexican vehicles is perceived as more lax than the U.S. states is the issue. A common set of standards is needed.

Another thing is tariffs on U.S. goods going to Canada and the very slow customs processing of goods going to Canada. You can get stuff from Britain or Hong Kong delivered faster than stuff shipped from Chicago. (personal anecdotal take on the actual shipping times)

Yeah. As you pointed out in another thread, that great wall of China kept the Mongol hordes out right?[sm=lol.gif]

Yes. The Great Wall in China almost worked 5 or 6 centuries ago.

There's every reason to suppose that it will almost work again - the developments of the last 5 or 6 centuries won't affect that outcome in the least.

Not to worry. Almost immediately after NAFTA was signed most all of the trucking companies in Mexico were bought up by drug cartels.
I'm sure the cartels will make sure the trucks are kept in good shape to assure their product makes it to market.
Trucking companies down there not bought up by cartels were bought by big US and Canadian carriers so they can pay drivers less, and of course those savings will be spent on improved trucks.
That's how Capitalism works, right?

Is a wall that ALMOST works anything like a condom that ALMOST works?[8D]

Mexico rescinds Texas aid offer

A lot of the aid had already arrived Ms Fonda

They're taking care of their own instead of sticking their nose in where it wasn't wanted.
We could learn from that neh?

DarkRavisher -> RE: Good thing the wall hasn;t been built yet (9/11/2017 2:34:59 PM)

Mexico did actually offer aid and it was accepted (as he said with Katrina) because America is inept

Us brits are simply better and we sent a bottle of skoosh and a packet of cheese and onion crisps to our overseas territories. The ungrateful beggars should be thankful.

One of my son in laws offers to pay for dinner sometimes. He has a hard time getting his wallet out though. Usually I never see it.

The wall is about a childish fantasy propped up by xenophobic fairy tales.

servantforuse -> RE: Good thing the wall hasn;t been built yet (9/11/2017 3:35:04 PM)

There will be a wall. It is not a fantasy.
