serious lapse of judgment?? did he shoot someone instead of arresting them? did he confiscate drugs for personal use instead of entering it into an evidence locker? did he falsify records to protect his peers? did he drink too much, drive, and get into an accident?

no, its a biting commentary on the social milieu that unfortunately got captured, the response to which was also unfortunate.
how dare anyone say out loud what probably a majority of cops and other people are already thinking.
if there was a "lapse of judgment" going on, it was that the guy didn't recognize we live in this hyper racially charged, politically correct time, where we have leftist speech overlords.

There is no need to politicize this event. The officer is a public servant and he has a duty above simple citizen speech. However, saying that, the idea that he’s going to be fired for what went down is just absolutely absurd and goes a long way to explain why police authority is out of control. I feel sorry for the guy. I hope there’s some intervention that will allow him to keep his job. He really only deserves a verbal and maybe a written reprimand in my opinion.
