ORIGINAL: DomStrictMale Of course white privilege exists. It has for hundreds of years. Almost every institution that governs our social structure has white men in positions of power at the top. This includes Congress, the military, the police, universities, corporations, and state governments. The only places I could find where there were representative numbers of Blacks in positions of authority were cities and small towns (albeit accompanied by predominantly white city councils) and historic Negro colleges. Otherwise, top-down, our institutions are governed by white people. That's because white men built those social structures. Not hard to do when everybody else was enslaved or being exterminated, eh? Well yes, but who feels for the poor white man who had to build society in his own image because he'd excluded every bastard else from it? Having slaves and serfs but still having to do stuff like that yourself is the worst sort of oppression, innit? So if you were building your own business would you go get some uneducated person from Nigeria, bring him over here and make him your Vice President? No.... what about Director of Marketing? Chief Financial Officer? Legal Counsel? Communications Director?.. Perhaps. an educated person from Nigeria. They do have them, yanno. . . . Oh, you didn't, did you? I didn't say educated. I said uneducated. Because a lot of uneducated and barely functional white folk do get employed in top paying jobs? I see your analogy now. My bad for missing that. I am sure that an uneducated white would be employed before an educated black person.... white privilege, you know. and the word for that particular white privilege is - cronyism. congrats ur catching on.
