Well he knows how to negotiate bankruptcies and 'negotiate' his contracting to bankrupt small business owners buy refusing to pay them and dragging them through court.
He knows how to 'negotiate' 16% junk bonds on an overdone, overpriced hotel/casino less than 2 miles from another Trump debt ridden hotel/casino, both of which went bankrupt.

Yet, he's come out pretty fucking wealthy, no?
quote:

So either way, you...can't trust him.

And, that's why I couldn't (and didn't) vote for the guy.

to be fair, he started out pretty wealthy...
He seems to be doing a good job screwing himself up without anyones help.
His Tweets are his downfall.
I notice mexico is in that list that deals with NK...
Does that mean that he will just remove you from NAFTA?
Is "not dealing with russia and china" gonna work?

And, he's still wealthy, no?

His tweet about not dealing with countries dealing with NK are bullshit. They aren't going to happen. But, that doesn't mean he lied, either. He said [the Administration] is considering.... If he offered it up as something and his Cabinet laughed at the idea, it was considered.

Yes, Trump's tweets are a huge thorn in his side. But, to point out the silver lining, I think we are finally starting to see what an elected politician actually honestly things. Scary or not, it's a step in the right direction, imo.

I have been called naive in the past for saying much the same as Trump when it comes to applying economic pressure against N. Korea. If anyone here can come up with a better idea I'd like to hear it.

I think the ONLY way, other than direct military action, is to choke N. Korea's economy to where he cannot afford to build missiles and bombs and stay in power. The ONLY way to do this is to force China, any any other nation that refuses to follow the UN resolutions, to stop supplying N. Korea goods and services.

The ONLY way to force China is to threaten, and if necessary follow through with, an economic embargo. We, and our western allies, have the power. China's economy could not survive a determined embargo and I'm not sure the ruling party could survive either.

Of course the question is... could we survive the embargo? I believe if it came to that, and if we mean it I do not think it will go that far, we would suffer greatly in the short run but in the long run we would emerge stronger than ever. To me the chance we would be taking with our economy is worth it when it comes to disarming N. Korea.

But again... if you or anyone else can come up with something better lets hear it.

We need to stop blaming Trump for this mess... If any President in the last four administrations had addressed this problem we would not be facing nuclear blackmail today. I don't think he is this genius when it comes to negotiations that many believe...but he is all we have and I hope he has the guts to apply pressure where and when it is needed to resolve this issue.

So basically, Donald's America is considering stopping trade with China, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Thailand, the Philippines and Russia.
How can anyone possibly witness this shit and not be deeply, painfully embarrassed?

Over 164,000 people liked this comment, BTW.

President Trump, might not be the worse President we have had {but it is still early in the game}, but he is clearly in the top 5.
Time will tell.

why would/should anyone give you a serious reply when your default position is "RWNJ"??

Whereas it is so obvious that you are even capable of giving a serious reply to anything.
RWNJ fits.

Do you know how to negotiate? The Donald does. Is he the best at it? I'm going to go ahead and say, "probably not." But, he does know how to negotiate. Does business negotiating translate perfectly to political negotiating? I'm going to say, "no."

He has started this negotiation by claiming that he is willing to destroy the entire global economy without even realizing that that is what he is proposing to do.
Does a skilled negotiator tend to propose destroying both his own and everyone else's business in order to get what he wants?
Does a skilled negotiator enter a business deal without even understanding fully what the deal is about, how it works or what he stands to lose?

I get that this is 'more than he is hoping for', but the proposition is so absurd that he's completely transparent, which is where the humiliation comes in.
This is why he is such a weak leader... you would think that he would have learned from his mistakes by now, but he can't.

The worst part is you have enough RWNJs like bounty, Bosco, etc. who will always defend him and deny that he is anything short of brilliant (or at least comparable to the worst of other presidents), no matter how embarrassing he becomes.
And like them, Trump will just tune out anything he doesn't want to hear-- sparing him the sting of the humiliation he deserves to feel.

I really wish that people would stop being so charitable to this guy.
Everyone should be embarrassed, everyone should realize that putting this person in power was a disgrace.

North Korea is not even a problem.
Every single threat they have made has amounted to exactly nothing.
If they followed through with any of those threats, they would be finished and they know it.

Trump is simply making it harder to turn China against them.
Trying to force China to do anything isn't going to work.

Tell that to the S. Koreans he bombed a few years ago... or tell the men of the S. Korean navel vessel he sank. This man is not content with just developing a deterrent... he is and will continue to be an aggressor towards S.Korea and their allies. He has proven himself as unstable as Trump and the world will not be safe as long as he has nuclear weapons.

He has supplied material and equipment to terrorists and could very well supply them with weapons that could make our cities uninhabitable for centuries. Sticking our heads in the sand will not work with this megalomaniac.

Those incidents aren't even close to being on the scale of a nuclear attack.
As I said, the response to NK using nuclear weapons would be catastrophic for Kim... he would lose the war, lose his power, everything.
Nuclear weapons are never going to be weapons of war between nations.

Trump is far more dangerous to the world than North Korea will ever be, and yet you don't hear anyone proposing sanctions against the US.

I agree with his decision too! It's not stupid. Also if he wants to bring manufacturing back to the US. Technically if all trade is banned from India, China, Thailand, Philippines, where all the child labour happens. US can start their own manufacturing booming again.

Thailand is one of the sickest countries in how they treat their children. Many had their penises chopped off from babies and forced to work as a transvestite from a kid. And this is because they are so poor, they see their child as their way to make money through the tranny sex trade.

Bullshit. His position will not "destroy the entire global economy." Nice hyperbole there.

He hasn't had a chance to make a mistake in this area yet. Negotiating is his 2nd biggest strength (regardless of what you think of his negotiation skills, they are only topped by his willingness to speak what's on his mind; take that however you will, too; ).

Give the guy an actual chance. We might be surprised. I'm truly hoping he succeeds in making the US better and doesn't go down as the worst President to date.

You're the one who seems totally unaware.
Connected Russians have invested millions of dollars in Trump properties, usually at a loss, paying him far more than they are worth.

What other reason could there possibly be?
It's basically staring everyone right in the face, and I am sure that the FBI will be able to put together a really strong case against Trump.
The election was only part of it.

No doubt you will knock the sources here, but the motherjones article links to the Wall Street Journal among other very mainstream news outlets.

Fuck off with the "knock the sources" crap. I'm more of a knock the message and not the messenger sort.

The Mother Jones article is rife with speculation and allegations. None of it means a thing, until proven. The first WaPo article is pretty intense... on Paul Manafort. The second WaPo article is speculation and allegations, like the MJ article (except with less support).

Until the FBI actually finds Trump guilty of something, he's innocent. Just because it doesn't look good (and the optics aren't very good) doesn't mean it is bad.

Same goes for Hillary ? Or Obama....surely? I wish the hillary haters on the right could get that.
Plus the fact that reps are trying to limit the time and scale of the mueller investigation is hinkey
