ST. LOUIS (AP) — A white former police officer was acquitted Friday in the 2011 death of a black man who was fatally shot following a high-speed chase, with the judge declaring that he would not be swayed by “partisan interests, public clamor or fear of criticism.”

The acquittal of Jason Stockley in the death of Anthony Lamar Smith had stirred concerns about possible civil unrest for weeks. Several hundred protesters were marching in the streets of downtown St. Louis within hours of the verdict, but only a single arrest had been reported as of midday.

The case played out not far from the suburb of Ferguson, which was the scene of the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, the unarmed black 18-year-old who was killed by a white police officer in 2014. That officer was never charged but eventually resigned.

Stockley, who was charged with first-degree murder, insisted he saw Smith holding a gun and felt he was in imminent danger. Prosecutors said the officer planted a gun in Smith’s car after the shooting. The officer asked the case to be decided by a judge instead of a jury.

“This court, in conscience, cannot say that the State has proven every element of murder beyond a reasonable doubt or that the State has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant did not act in self-defense,” St. Louis Circuit Judge Timothy Wilson wrote in the decision .

and it ends with this : The gun found in Smith’s car did not have his DNA on it, but it did have Stockley’s.

All this from Breitbart, what gives?

The great American justice system. Kill a man, plant evidence and get clean away with it and particularly it seems, if the shooter is white. We see the angst and racism in Trump's election.

That article is from www.breitbart.com (I know you read it all).

And it’s a fair article, well, by their standards, and ends with the [word removed] DNA was not found on the “alleged gun” but the coppers was. Optics, as Breitbart seem to like that word, if the coon brandished that weapon, and aimed it at the policemen, then his DNA would have been on the gun.
Another travesty of Justice.

I came across this today MrRodgers and it didn't make for a pleasant read.

As a very public private citizen, Trump appealed for the reinstatement of the death penalty in New York after the Central Park rape case made headlines. “I want to hate these muggers and murderers. They should be forced to suffer and, when they kill, they should be executed for their crimes,” wrote Trump in a 1989 ad that ran in various newspapers. The “Central Park Five” — a group of black and Latino teens — were later convicted of the crime, and years later exonerated. After the Central Park Five reached a settlement with the city in 2014, Trump wrote an opinion piece calling it a “disgrace.”

Why not say I was wrong, "sorry".

the people in this country are terrified of the gubmint.

It was easier for them to live under the control of Al Capone et al.

Many people embrace the "gubmint."
Few people are terrified of the “gubmint.”

I am surprised you do not see this.

Be kind: he's been having daily conniptions since his chosen rebel against the oppressive gubmint conspiracy was sworn in as president.

I was being kind. I can beat him on the spot if it pleases you?

How can a known pathological liar be sworn in?

I am bothered by the lack of the "victims" dna on the gun.
The cop picked up the gun to move it away from the suspect, of course his DNA was on the gun.
The "suspect" had already rammed the police car 3 times, did you forget that. That is assaulting an
officer with a deadly weapon.
You forget that when told to surrender he put his hand on the seat where the gun would be.
For all we know the prosecution "lost" the culprit's DNA to help his case because not finding
it was the only incriminating evidence they had.

A. "insisted he saw Smith holding a gun and felt he was in imminent danger"

B. I am not quite how you can ignore that and then ramble on about B to Z.

Do you see what I am saying?

If you explain "A" to me I will hear you out on B to Z

They both saw the gun at McDonalds.
He had rammed the police car repeatedly.
The cop said that when told to stay still he reached to the seat where the gun was
found.
You want to believe that evidence was made up, so why is it impossible that the prosecutor
did it. Everything except the alleged lack of DNA fits the officers version perfectly. The absence of proof
is not proof.
Z explained A and not finding something is not proof.

They both saw the gun and him holding the gun, then why was his DNA not on it?

I'm not particularly bothered by that. It would have been additional evidence, but criminals are usually smart enough to clean a gun of trace evidence before using it. If he was reaching for it after already using his car as a weapon, then he sealed his own fate. That has nothing to do with the race of anyone involved.

I don't know.
Could be they just didn't find it more likely they didn't even look.
Everything else says the cop was innocent , you want to believe that everything
other than the claim his DNA wasn't on it was tampered with. Doesn't it make more sense
that it was that one test that was flawed?

You have a lot of evidence in the case one thing raises a question and you want to throw everything else out.
How come you ignore the FACT that he had already assaulted the officers or are you going to try and tell me that the cops took a car out and wrecked it to help the frame up.

Thank you, good point.
He may have been wearing gloves whenever he used it.
As I said, the lack of proof is not proof.

So he pulled a gun on the bent coppers and nig nog coon was slain. And as he lay dead the darkie had the sheer cheek to wipe his monkey DNA from the gun?

You don't read well do you.
The cop shot him because he REACHED FOR THE GUN not because he was holding it.
You still have about 20 pieces of evidence 19 go one way one goes the other, you want
to get rid of the 19 (estimate) and do everything based on the one because otherwise
you don't get the conclusion you want.
It makes more sense that the DNA test was messed up that that everything else was.

This kind of shit has been going on for years. It has nothing to do with Trump's election. But since having him elected has seemed to opened up the left's eyes to the racism that has existed all along, maybe some good will come out of it after all.

Unless you have hard evidence that would hold up in court of a gun being planted, I believe that qualifies as slander.
