(Not to mention the fact that Zimmerman's behaviour since suggests that his head is solid bone and he was thus unlikely to suffer a concussion or any other damage from cranial trauma. Now if the dead thug had kicked him the arse instead, that would likely have caused brain damage...)

The trial, even the prosecution showed that Zimmerman was not stalking Martin. and that Martin doubled back and ambushed him.

Yes, and the police dispatcher he spoke to told him to stay in his car and not do anything about the [word removed]thug he didn't like the look of. That is well documented and was mentioned at the trial, rather than an urban myth.

Most department abandon non-lethal when the suspect does.

I am all for police protecting themselves, and safeguarding the lives of the public nearby...I suspect theres still a way to do it.

I don't think ive ever read of an instance of police using them in a situation like this. or for that matter, apart from tasers, we hardly ever hear stories of cops using unique and specially designed non-lethal methods to subdue mortal threats. I don't doubt they happen but itd be good to hear how.

I wonder about net guns, tranquilizers, or in this instance, why not tasers?
