MasterJaguar01 -> I suspected this but never saw any evidence... Until NOW! (9/22/2017 9:08:14 PM)

https://techcrunch.com/2017/09/22/electronic-voting-state-hacking-russian-government-cyber-actors/

It looks like (still waiting for the evidence of actual damage done) the Russians actually targeted 21 states' election systems.

All those elections that Trump supposedly won? Maybe not?

Nuh uh... Fake News... The Department of Homeland Security is part of the deep state, working with those nasty liberals trying to nullify the election.

RottenJohnny -> RE: I suspected this but never saw any evidence... Until NOW! (9/22/2017 9:31:21 PM)

From the article...

quote:

So far, other battleground states including Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire and North Carolina are not among those confirmed in the hacking attempt.

I can't speak to the other states but Michigan does not use electronic voting. We do use electronic tabulators but they are not connected to the internet for any reason. They may not even have the ability to be connected. There were voting irregularities discovered during the infamous Jill Stein recount but none of it had anything to do with the Russians.

That's probably why the Russians didn't try to hack Michigan's voting system :)

Such a wonderful debate effort.
Do you believe that the election was not interfered with, in any way?

I know that before the elections, leftist trash like you and Barack mocked Trump, swore that elections can't be hacked, and demanded that he promise to accept the election results

Can you answer the question please? or continue derailing the topic.
PS I brought up the accusations back in october about russians and all you have claimed since then it is a hoax, and you cling to it without proof, fact or video.

I recall something about this (the attack attempts) some time ago, but it is is interesting to see that DHS was in the know, though why they kept it to themselves is a bit of a mystery to me. Way to defend the homeland there guys!

Thanks for the update on the new rhetoric!

Definition of a Howler: One who refers to a finding of the Department of Hoomeland Security. (Becuse they are alll deep state Howlers too!)

rambunctiousblak -> RE: I suspected this but never saw any evidence... Until NOW! (9/23/2017 9:50:26 AM)

Donald Trump says he will accept US election result 'if I win'
At an Ohio rally the Republican candidate said ‘I will totally accept the results’ but then clarified he still may file a legal challenge if Hillary Clinton wins.
Trump later went on to warn that his opponent Hillary Clinton would “do anything, including voter fraud” to win. And he claimed that in being asked to accept the integrity of the American electoral process, “I am being asked to waive centuries of legal precedent designed to protect the voters.”

The Russian thing is clearly a hoax propagated by the fake news media, twitter and face book bots paid for by The Clinton’s slush funds. You will find his voter fraud investigation will uncover all manner of liberal sins.
He won fair and square so let it go.

Hillary's slush funds are paying for the deep state howlers at DHS.

Thanks for the education:)

http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-essential-washington-updates-russians-targeted-election-systems-in-1498059012-htmlstory.html

It looks like hackers tried accessing electronic databases relating to tabulating votes. What has not been said in the public reports of official investigations can be summed up in two questions.
1> Was the system hacked or just an attempt at hacking noted and logged?
2> If it was actually hacked; was it just a proof of concept since the investigation shows that nothing was changed?

Since, using VPN, even an old fart like me can make it look like an access attempt is coming from any country I choose; how are they sure it is Russian hackers? I think the guy was from Michigan that demonstrated how easy it was to hack electronic voting machines at Defcon a few years ago. For the most part; government accepted voting systems are SOTA 1989 at best. The tabulating programs on servers are better secured but the actual voting machines are easily hacked if you can sneak a screwdriver into the voting booth to open a cabinet and put a thumb drive into the computer.

I would actually expect other countries to do intrusion attempts on government computers. That is the digital equivalent to rattling a door to see of someone left it open. I'm sure our agencies do the same.

The questions no one has answered to my satisfaction on the 2016 election are:
1> Were there really several voting areas that logged more votes cast than registered voters?
2> Is voter fraud really that widespread or did someone manipulate the tally to favor one candidate over the other?

Picture ID with proof of residence when registering to vote anyone?

Sure... But that's not the problem with California, or any other state...

People die or move away without contacting the SOS's office. Period. That doesn't equal voter fraud.

Hilarious how leftists want it both ways. They scream voter fraud when they lose elections, while at the same time refusing to do the things Republicans have been calling for all along to safeguard the process

Here in Maine (at least the three towns I've voted in) we don't have all that fancy tech shit your states have. Machines?? NO.. We just have pencil and voting card (everyone bears down and blackens those circles ruthlessly), and some little old ladies that squint at people sideways and check their drivers license to make sure they are who they claim to be before checking their name off the town's voter list and standing guard over the ballot box. They are EXTREMELY thorough, which is ridiculous because in such a small town everyone pretty much knows everyone and "everything" about them. I guess it is a good thing it's done this way. Everyone keeps an eye on everyone else and there are no machines to fail punching chads or computers to be hacked.
