George Clooney pulls no punches as to who is really to blame.

quote:

nd whom did Clooney blame? He hasn’t said that much, but he gave an interview to the Daily Beast this week. It was mostly about his movie, but somehow his fundraising and endorsements for a failed presidential candidate came up: “Do you feel like history will look kindly on Hillary Clinton?”

And just as he’d done in his letter backing the candidate, more than a year ago, Clooney expressed his disappointment briefly and bluntly.

“She was more qualified than even her husband was when he was elected president,” he said. “But she’s not as good at communicating things. That’s simply true. When she got up and gave a speech, it didn’t soar.”

Clooney called Clinton “the right person to side with.” But he admitted: “It was frustrating because I never saw her elevate her game. I never saw it. And I had a lot of liberal friends who were like, ‘She’s not good at this.’ And I see that, and I understand it.”
Hillary Clinton blames many things for her loss. George Clooney blames her ‘frustrating’ speeches.

You have to admit, when Trump gave a speech, he evoked passion.

Hillary on the other hand gave a speech and evoked.... heh.

Even when he endorsed her run, he didnt call here a great or even good politician.

Donald Trump at least was passionate, albeit wrongly directed in some cases, in his run for the oval office.

Hillary, well while good at pointing out what she saw as wrong with the GOP, did not really have something to get passionate about. It was basically, they are wrong, this is wrong, that is wrong....

Lets face it, the American voter looks for the 'gotcha' hook when they decide who to vote for.

They vote for whoever can make the most convincing 'good ol days' case and who is to blame for those days being gone, or the person that promises some new 'change' or better days to come.

The problem is that since Reagan, there has not been anyone that could actually make their plan work. Trump has crashed and burned on the GOP healthcare repeal and reform, pissed off god knows how many of his own base and a number of countries, and the dems in response can only point fingers without offering anything to prove their way is better.

Its still polarized politics as usual.

Washington and every state capital for that matter is in dire need of a political enema.

This country needs a change, and it is not a change on party lines, but we need to leave the extreme right and find a middle ground that allows things to get done. It wont be perfect, but it will be a working solution to the shit going on in our capitals today.

Making a compromise is not a failure, it is a solution. A failure is when you try to do something and have half the people you need to get it done so pissed off they wont talk to you so it sits and lingers in limbo.

All great points....

I ask the question.... When does Hilary EVER NOT blame everyone else for her campaign loss.

Even Sean Hannity, who can't seem to articulate anything beyond a second grade level, articulated the long list of people to blame other than herself.

“Evoked passion” I think not! His monosyllabic rhetoric of hate riled up his gatherings of the-pure (google that), waifs, strays, supremacists, the bitter and twisted minds.
I further believe a vast army or Russian troll-bots on facebook and twitter cost HRC millions of votes. Even now there is no country on earth, nor race, he has not offended, and this very day, Sunday, he has turning on his own nation.
Or did you see this playing out another way?

I'm just hoping the Dems manage to scrape up somebody else besides Kanye in 2020 and she doesn't get a second nomination...

Hillary's big problem was that she overestimated the intelligence, decency and knowledge of the average American voter... but I also sort of got the impression that she felt entitled and like she didn't have to try to win over all of their hearts and minds, and that rubs people the wrong way.

Trump was offering something shiny and new, and there were enough Americans who were stupid enough to not realize that he wouldn't be able to do any of it, or that if he somehow could do it, it would be awful.

So now we have an impotent mouthpiece embarrassing America in front of the world, the GOP going ahead with its typical bullshit (which bears no relation to Trumpism or any of his campaign promises), America no longer being seen as a global leader, all of its former allies being distant and ostracizing Trump at their meetings, and a handful of people trying desperately to pretend that Trump is a strong leader who deserves respect even if he can't command it. Meanwhile the rest of the world sees a dumb drunk uncle responsible for a lot of awkward moments where everyone tiptoes around him for fear of an outburst, and then talks smack about him as soon as he leaves the room.

This is what Americans chose over middle-of-the-road, competent, workmanlike leadership... so what does that say about them?

Regardless, Hillary needs to disappear from the public eye for a while... all that she is doing is feeding Trump and Trump supporters' need to keep talking about the election as if it is somehow the end of American history, everything they believe is now completely true and it is everyone's patriotic duty to support all of the horrible things they believe in and want for the country.

If you believe that then why aren't you asking yourself why there were enough hateful waifs, strays, etc. to get him elected? It's because for the last 30 or 40 years traditional politicians like Hillary have left them feeling forgotten and cast aside and that left them wanting someone else in some pretty big numbers.
As usual Hillary totally forgot them again, assuming that she had a lock on both coasts and Illinois, and all she needed was one or two swing states like Ohio or Pennsylvania, and she only gave token campaigns in those states where forgotten feeling Americans lived. Trump was at least smart enough to catch the trend and address those people in his campaign.

As for the Russians. If they were campaigning so hard against her, then how did she win the popular vote? More likely that they were campaigning on her behalf since Democrats traditionally are Socialist leaning slightly to Communist. In spirit Hillary should have been Putin's favorite once Bernie didn't get the nomination.

What it comes down to is that once again, Hillary forgot about all but her favorite Americans, and underestimated the number of disaffected, so she lost.

How could you possibly think that posting this insanity was a good idea?

So the Russians gave the Hillary and DNC emails to WikiLeaks to help Hillary?
They created fake news tying her to a pedophile ring because pedophilia wins votes?
Trump was gushing over Putin, stopping just short of full on sexual innuendo for an entire year because he was helping Hillary?

THINK.

Russia hasn't been communist OR socialist for decades now... where exactly have you been?
They're now an oligarchy mostly run by the mafia. The people tolerate Putin's fascism and in turn he improves the economy-- that's the deal.

There is absolutely nothing socialist, communist, liberal or even left-moderate about Russia.

So the Russians were pro Trump, and Hillary got the popular vote? If so then they obviously weren't very effective and we can just stop worrying about the Russians entirely.

"I further believe a vast army or Russian troll-bots on facebook and twitter cost HRC millions of votes." Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg says his company will share 3,000 Russia-linked political adverts with US investigators. That is facebook alone, not twitter,Breitbart or Fox news. Do you believe any of the aforementioned cost her one vote?

If someone tried to kill me I'd be stuck for hours filling out paperwork about the body. It wouldn't be the first time.

As for the Russians, the US Gov't has been influencing international elections for decades and you never hear anyone make any kind of hue and cry over it. The Russians were just doing the same as they have for decades as well. Don't think it's ever been considered a criminal act until now because so many are looking for anyone to blame over Hillary's loss. Because of course there had to be some kind of fix since the left leaning majority of the media had been misinterpreting the polls, and assuring us all that Hillary was a lock for over a year. It's not Trump's or the Russians' fault that so many drank the media koolaid.

Christ. This is the part that smug Leftist idiots don't get.

The extreme right is a counter to the extreme left - that left which elevates identity politics and the victimhood narrative to the level of high art.

There will be no middle ground while the extreme left is trying to delude itself and the electorate into believing they're moderates.

quote:

Making a compromise is not a failure, it is a solution. A failure is when you try to do something and have half the people you need to get it done so pissed off they wont talk to you so it sits and lingers in limbo.
The Democratic Party isn't interested in compromise. You have these feminist nutters who think abortion is a hill to die on and they won't support anyone who thinks otherwise - despite the electorate being more interested in moderates than reproductive rights zealots.
