From my end, even if Singapore were banned from entering US. It wouldn't even bother me. I don't feel like it's my privilege to have the right to enter any other country. It should be subjected to their approval. So I never understood why people gets so upset about this. It would not be about you as the immigrant, Greta. It is about how we define ourselves. On the one hand we have long declared ourselves a nation of immigrants while on the other hand we don't want no fuckin foreigners coming ashore. Well most immigrants came here to get more money or at least be no poorer than they were in their home country but no longer oppressed. Some, many millions came here...to get rich. That you might have to live like a rat or share a townhouse (5 room row house that shared walls, not floors) for a while was no worse than home. Everybody here already...hated them too. (got any insomnia ? read about the Irish immigrant to the US, may keep you awake) (rent BTW on a side note: $13-$15/mon., pay at .60/hr was $36/week 60 hours full time) Few had those jobs. If they did, they were middle-class.
