North Korea accuses US of declaring war North Korea's foreign minister has accused US President Donald Trump of declaring war on his country. Ri Yong-ho told reporters in New York that North Korea reserved the right to shoot down US bombers. This applied even when they were not in North Korean airspace, the minister added. This is not the first time that North Korea has used the phrase "a declaration of war" in relation to the United States. But Mr Ri's comments are a response to the US president's tweet that Mr Ri and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un would not "be around much longer" if they continued their rhetoric. The world "should clearly remember" it was the US that first declared war, Mr Ri said, in a rare statement to Western media as he left New York. The foreign minister had addressed the UN General Assembly on Saturday. In a fiery speech he described Mr Trump as a "mentally deranged person full of megalomania" on a "suicide mission". The two sides have been engaged in an increasingly angry war of words. Despite weeks of tension, experts have played down the risk of direct conflict between the two.

The US seems to have strong words, but is mainly best at making a mess. Did anyone surrender in the Korean war ? If not then possibly we are still at it. But I think the message is that if they fuck with us they will get a stomping like they never imagined. It is not going to be like Nam. T^T

Well, if we had truly declared war as Mr Ri suggests, then he should not have been allowed to leave the country and should have been arrested as an agent of espionage. (And maybe beaten into a coma before being returned to NK.) Awfully lucky for Ri that we haven't declared war, eh?

Well really, this is almost getting ridiculous except the toys for these boys in this Romper Room...are nukes. The whole fucking world would know that the US declared war had we actually and fully voted on it. We need to find an adult somewhere and get one into their deathly playroom.

The Korean war never officially ended, there are still peace talks going on, it is in a state of cease fire.

Cooler heads will prevail. Nukes won't be the first rounds fired in war, unless KJU fires them. This isn't real-life Mobile Strike. Trump can't just push a button and everything happens immediately. He is the last line of authorizing for use of nukes. He doesn't hold the keys. He doesn't carry a briefcase with an Easy Nuke Button that launches everything. FFS.

First attack ? Last attack ?? Are you totally off tap greta ? We are talking fireworks that can take out very large areas of real estate and leave it and even larger areas, glowing in the dark for the next thousand years . This is NOT a game of who is the biggest bully in the playground. This is real, it supposedly adult and it could take years off a lot of people's lives. Please think a little further than the tip of your tongue greta and if you want a war, go find one and volunteer for one side or the other. How about everybody stops pissing everybody else off and holds some sensible talks in some place like the Peace Park in Hiroshima, or maybe on top of one of the buildings in Chernobyl.

Cowering to anybody who threatens to bomb your country? Because the fact that North Korea know that once their weapons is effective, they can essentially threaten anybody now with shooting something towards them, IF they don't co-operate with North Korea. Through "peace talks" and "compromises", the world has just allowed North Korea to succeed building stronger and stronger weapons. Good luck to avoiding a future war.

No, we did not react in the similar manner. Even China has constantly threatened us. We are not North Korea. Real peaceful Nations don't threaten violence in return. Ah, I see , so you think peaceful nations will be left alone in time of war. nations like Holland, Norway, Lichtenstein, etc etc etc . I don't see NK as a rogue state. Just a state with a bit of a nutcase leader who likes to play with his big toys . The people seem happy enough with their lot but they don't like the idea of being pushed around so their leader plays to his audience and jumps up and down and insults the opposition and says how brave he is and how he can beat other countries. He has never been to war, nor has he seen a war first hand. The last war his country was involved in was long, bloody and horrible. Nobody with half a brain, you included, wants to see the birds fly. I said I was talking about NK but if you look at it, I could equally have been talking about the U.S.A.
