ORIGINAL: jlf1961 Facts, tamaka started the personal attacks with hers on lucy. Second, the time line of Trump's response to the crisis in Puerto Rico is public knowledge. Sept. 20th Maria hits Puerto Rico Sept. 21st American Red Cross and other non government agencies begin relief efforts. First reports of the devastation come out of Puerto Rico, from reporters and HAM radio operators working with local emergency response personnel, including news footage. First requests for immediate relief made to FEMA and US government Sept. 22 Trump tweets about the Puerto Rico debt to Wall Street and various government agencies, while pointing out the out of date water and electric grid. Sept 23 President Trump plays a round of golf, spends periods of the weekend tweeting about NFL player disrespect Sept. 25 holds FIRST cabinet meeting to discuss the crisis in Puerto Rico (five days AFTER the storm) Sept. 29 Orders USS Comfort to Puerto Rico, nine days after the power had been knocked out to hospitals and fuel for generators running low. Funny thing President Obama was crucified on this board for his slow response to Hurricane Sandy, and he had a cabinet meeting on the problems within 24 hours of the storm's passing! President Bush put an Army General in charge of the Katrina response four days after the storm after hearing how FEMA was fucking up. Now, if Obama was wrong for not having a cabinet meeting about Sandy within hours of the storm passing, how in the fuck is President Trump remotely handling this properly if he waited a full five fucking days before holding a crisis cabinet meeting? And that is not even mentioning the fact that he felt that he could work in a round of fucking golf? You have a retired Army general, the same guy that took over the Katrina response referring to Trump's handling of the crisis and the FEMA director's as well as Bullshit. All the facts, the facts are public knowledge. The simple fact that here is that the President waited too long to fucking do anything and you people are giving him a pass. Bush was vilified by both sides of the aisle for waiting three days to get a competent person in charge of Katrina. Obama for not having a crisis meeting immediately after the first reports of Sandy's impact. Yeah, very few people died as a direct result of the storm, but seriously, with the assets and abilities of the non combat military personnel at the President's disposal, he could have had all the airports on the island handling even C130's, and if they could not land for whatever reason, those same crews could have airdropped personnel and light construction equipment to clear runways and get the place operational within hours. Hell they had a destroyed Baghdad airport operational in less than six, and that included filling in bomb cratered runways. Now, how in the fuck can anyone say the job is being handled well when the assets that could make it possible to get supplies to all parts of the island from 8 other fucking airports have not been utilized. And the fact is that the highest scoring unit for that job is still sitting at the base 12 miles from my house wondering the same damn thing. Hell the group commander has had them on standby since fucking storm. "You're a joke" isn't a personal attack? Never said it wasnt, I just pointed out that you started the bullshit with your statements concerning lucy. So, I guess you are allowed to attack another user but are immune from attack yourself? If that is your thought process, then "You're a joke" no longer qualifies as a personal attack, but as a fact of your existence. Of course, it fits with the ideology that while it is perfectly okay to attack a dem president for slow response but not okay to attack a GOP president who took five fucking days to hold a cabinet meeting on the crisis in Puerto Rico. Funny thing, President Bush openly admitted he fucked up with his initial handling of the Katrina response, after realizing the man that he had in charge initially was not getting the job done. And that was within four days of the storm's passing. It was nine days before Trump authorized or ordered the navy to send a hospital ship (which actually does not dock in a harbor, but lays offshore with patients ferried out by helicopter.) Now when you consider that the US Military has been involved in humanitarian crisis response operations for a couple of decades, and while some of the more experienced may have retired, there are still some senior officers who know enough to tell him, "Mr President we need to do _______ now." The man that took over the Katrina response calls his response bullshit. Members of his own party have questioned his actions regarding the crisis. So, at this point, why is it that with the situation, cant some of the die hard Trump supporters admit, he may have not done a good job, and fucked up. This story is rather interesting.
