That's what I call balls!

Anyway, it's amusing to me that the whole world is bullying Myammar over the Rohingyas now, but as I always said, China has been persecuting Muslims since the beginning of time, and all these groups are silent about China, because nobody can touch China at the moment.

But China came very close to what I want done with the Quran, except, this is too heavy handed.

Keep the Quran, just officially force every copy of Quran to have a "Parental Advisory" Sticker on the cover, to state that teachings in there are vile and reprehensible, please read at your risk.

This is much better than confiscating Qurans and persecuting the Muslims who have them.

Let them have their Quran. Who cares! I care more about having the truth about the Quran advertised on their covers, and hell, distributed them to everyone!

As in all 1 party dictatorships, the ball(s) you find are based on one of the world's strongest monopolies on violence...the PLA. I am sure the Chinese worker and peasant feel themselves quite 'liberated.'

So in essence, the Chinese govt. could ban anything they want, anytime they want (see Internet in China) and without repercussion.

In fact, the bible was banned 40 years ago but is now allowed under a few restrictions. Of course money is ok so China is now the world leader in publishing bibles. (125 million and counting)

Maybe they should rethink this as publishing the Quaran could be another profit center. Hell, yes, hell...both are just books after all, nothing else really. They certainly aren't the word of god or allah but of men.

There is at least one far left howler loon here who has praised China's ability, and therefore the ability communist dictatorships have, to move swiftly on policy (such as air pollution laws, and potentially banning gasoline powered automobiles)

I wonder if he is going to be howling a different tune about Dear Leader's supreme power in this particular case

FFS pointing out that one party states can pass legislation more easily is just stating the obvious.
Praising some aspect of a government doesn't mean you're endorsing it, idealizing it or demanding it for your own country.

Subtle distinctions like this will probably never register with you, unfortunately.

Yeah, he's obviously massively pro China from that: genuinely thinks it's a utopia that is soon to perfect itself.

China regularly bans anything they deem to be a threat to their power structure.
Falun Gong was banned because it was becoming too popular, and then they started tracking people down and selling their organs on the black market.

Of course, it's not really surprising that you're happy about Muslims being persecuted.

Your claim that he's in favour of the Chinese government's massive powers is false on the evidence you've presented.
Try again, instead of dodging the issue.

You are just pathologically oblivious to anything that threatens your fragile ego, aren't you?
Either you're afraid of admitting you're wrong (even when it's obvious to everyone that you are) or you're just really stupid.

I honestly can't tell which one it is.

Not actually an either/or opposition, that: it could quite easily be both at once.

So, is this what it is to not be a smug, pompous ass?
Mercilessly antagonizing someone you believe to be mentally ill?

Well you sure know how to take the high road.
Can you please teach me how to be a better person?

Is the key to find someone weaker than you and then attack them personally?

go stalk someone else blinker. you do a particularly bad job with me.

as for you wicked:

quote:

Chinese authorities are ordering Muslims in the country to hand over their prayer mats and copies of the Quran or else face punishment, it has been reported.

Officials in Xinjiang province have warned members of the Uyghur ethnic minority they must surrender religious items on pain of "harsh punishments", according to an exile leader.

"We received a notification saying that every single ethnic Uyghur must hand in any Islam-related items from their own home, including Qurans, prayers and anything else bearing the symbols of religion," Dilxat Raxit, of the exile World Uyghur Congress, told Radio Free Asia (RFA), which is operated by the US government.

yeah, that's not "banning."

wise up. better yet, get off the forums and get the help you need,

OK, so since China is being dickish towards Muslims that makes it OK that the Burmese are killing Muslims?

Only in Gretaland.

I remember Christian charities garnering money to smuggle bibles into China back before Mao died. Banning the Koran sounds par for the course for the Chinese government to me.

Disagreeing with another culture is like teaching a Donkey to sing. Who knows, you might get a miracle but don't stake anything you can't afford to lose.

if you like those sorts of stories, theres a great read called "god's smuggler" by brother Andrew, a dutch fellow who smuggled bibles into eastern Europe in the soviet era.

Imagine if all children were not allowed to be raised by their parents and instead put into military school at a young age...how many would later choose a religion if one wasn't forced upon them at a young age?

I think it makes okay that Burmese are standing up for themselves after years of Muslims killing them and disturbing their lands.

PS: China has been actively massacring Muslims in China too. These Uyghurs are like the Rohingyas.

I'm just saying, China has been regularly "genociding" them but nobody cries for the Uyghur because nobody wanna offend China.

But this is a country where both Christians and Muslims are persecuted folks. It's interesting there is no Christian Terrorists in China. I wonder why.
