All that's left to be figured out is what it means for the people that choose to oppose it, usually on religious grounds, by using their businesses to make their political statement.
The United States will not agree to give up the death penalty under any circumstances. But being homosexual is not a crime in America anyway.
Actually, it is still a "don't ask, don't tell" matter in a way. "Sodomy" is still a crime in many places. Posting intimate pictures of same sex relations on the internet actually could get you arrested even if on an adult venue. (Not agreeing but noting the existence of the laws.)

But these laws can't be enforced, legally. Of course, that doesn't matter when you're arrested and locked up until a court has the sense to know that.
