I think she can manage. Most slaps like this are not violent, because they are from women and they don't have to be forceful and violent, after all, she is not fighting him off. She is making a point and making it immediately public to all who are around her.

for some things the state will bring charges. for other things, the injured party has to follow all the way through with doing so.

was there a court case or not? jv says no.

if there wasn't, its not a matter of "the courts letting him go" per se, its something else.

there might not have been sufficient evidence for the court to try him, she might have dropped the charges, or something else might have occurred.

so what im understanding is---the police and some lawyers think theres enough evidence for charges to be pursued but the case didn't end up in trial.

do we know why? I suspect the most common reason would be the DA doesn't think, given what they have, that a trial would be worth pursuing.
