Well, let's see how the investigation plays out to see just why Sgt Johnson was left behind for 2 days, though all the other dead & wounded were recovered.

And you ignore that General Kelly lied about the Congresswoman. Why would a 4Star General go to such lengths, from the White House Press Room? Why such an attack to discredit a member of the House?

But no, I've actually met Rep Wilson a couple times, though she's not representing my district. She's been leading the conversation here in Florida on how to keep seniors in nursing homes safer during hurricanes. Very strong speaker, especially on topics close to her heart.

Finding the truth of what happened to Sgt Johnson and why he was left behind for two full days should not have to be a political matter.

I seriously doubt that Trump is directly involved or responsible, yet as Truman said, 'the buck stops here'.

Trump, in his first tweet on this issue claimed to have "proof" that his account of this matter was correct, and that the family and the Congresswoman's account was incorrect. If memory serves me well, he accused them of falsifying the record.

So where is this "proof"? If it exists, why hasn't Trump released it? Why have all the subsequent revelations either confirmed or added weight to the widow's version of event? Why has no evidence supporting Trump's version (other than the repeated re-assertions of Trump's version coming from Trump himself or his staff) entered the public domain?

One would reasonably think that if the proof exists, the President could very quickly and conclusively end the controversy in a manner that would boost his image* by releasing the proof for us all to see. Equally a failure to release this "proof" adds weight to accounts of this matter that show Trump handled the matter with an appalling lack of sensitivity, simple empathy and compassion.

And of course, if this "proof" was in the public domain, people like you who like to find excuses for all of Trump's excesses wouldn't have to resort to inventing absurd conspiracy theories, claims of "set-ups" and bad mouthing the widow of a soldier who died in his country's service to excuse yet another piece of atrocious callous behaviour by Trump.

* boosting his own image is matter very close to Trump's heart, if the amount of self promotion and self aggrandisement he engages in is anything to go by ....

We can arrive at different conclusions by assigning more or less weight to the facts and more than one result can be valid.
