AA
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - The officer who prosecutors say held the most responsibility for the in-custody death of Freddie Gray was found not guilty in a disciplinary hearing.

The three-member board said Tuesday that Officer Caesar Goodson did not violate any police department policies.

The panel consisted of two Baltimore police officers and an outside chair.

The decision by the board was unanimous. The lawyer for the Baltimore City Police Department, Neil Duke, argued that Goodson should have been fired for failing to follow policy by not buckling Gray into a seatbelt and for failing to get him medical attention.

Last week, a forensic pathologist who testified for the defense said Gray would still have the ability to hit his head even if he had been in a seatbelt.

Goodson's lawyers say the department failed to disseminate information about a policy change requiring seatbelts.

Under cross-examination, that pathologist admitted that if Gray had been taken to the hospital when he requested to go, Gray would have never made it to the stops where he allegedly sustained the injuries.

Goodson was acquitted of all charges in a criminal case last year.

There was so much prosecutorial misconduct that what happened got lost.

I object to the idea that anyone not intimately familiar with all the court documents, lawyers statements, hearings, conversations, testimonies, deliberations, etc, can make a claim of "no justice."

JVoV -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 3:45:04 PM)

Overruled.

This was a hearing to decide whether the officer should keep his job or not. This is the police union refusing to hold one of their own accountable.

I find every single one of them in contempt.

DaddySatyr -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 4:55:02 PM)

This cop was obviously a racist that should have been drummed off the police force immediately after the incident.

servantforuse -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 7:02:26 PM)

If I'm not mistaken, there were six officers involved in this incident. Two, maybe three of them were black. This was about a black woman DA out to make a name for herself with no case. It back fired on her.

NONE of the officers involved were found guilty.

The officer that drove the van, failed to buckle Freddie Gray into a seatbelt, get him medical attention and lied about the chain of events after the arrest.

This ruling is a travesty of justice, a slap in the face for the citizens of Baltimore, and is atrocious.

NO JUSTICE

As I said there was so much prosecutorial misconduct that the details of the case got lost.
If they had been after justice they would have gotten rid of 2 maybe 3 of the officers fired an a go9od chance that at least 1 would have gone to jail.
Instead they went for a show trial and blew the whole thing.

servantforuse -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 7:35:29 PM)

And look what has happened in Baltimore since. Crime has spiked. Murders are out of control. Police are not responding, for obvious reasons. There is no justice for the law abiding residents of Baltimore.

DaddySatyr -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 7:51:55 PM)

Yes, I was hoping someone would catch the irony since (I think) no more than two of the officers who were targeted were white.

Peace,

Michael

I actually agree with this point, there is NO justice for law abiding residents in Baltimore.

I don't live that far from Baltimore, and I am a very law abiding citizen.
[;)]

I would not feel comfortable having to deal with the police in that city.

No winners in Baltimore, everyone loses, except these "officers".

servantforuse -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 7:59:32 PM)

Crime around the country has gone up since this. I believe it is called 'the Baltimore effect'.

About a year or so ago, I was interviewing a retired police chief who was running for mayor.

It was supposed to be a "fluff" piece to help this guy get votes. I like the guy. Decent human being. I didn't live in the area, when he was police chief.

Because it was an issue of the day, I asked him about the "Baltimore Effect". All he would say (on the record) was that he absolutely believed it was a phenomenon.

Peace,

Michael

servantforuse -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 8:11:22 PM)

As a very big example. Look at Chicago. Just saying. 500 homicides as of September 17th. Why isn't that a headline?

DaddySatyr -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 8:17:45 PM)

It doesn't fit the MSM narrative which is the DNC narrative.

Propaganda works that way.

Peace,

Michael

servantforuse -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 8:23:34 PM)

If I lived there I would be more afraid of the people that live there, not the police officers. As of September of this year there were 266 homicides in Baltimore. The police officers are not responsible.

Lucylastic -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 8:27:54 PM)

Nobody with a gun, "cares" about the death rate by guns, until gun control is brought up. then its blamed on race or dem cities.(chicago or baltimore) , dragged out like it has been here.
its frankly pitiful.
jmho

servantforuse -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 8:37:02 PM)

Gun control has nothing to do with this topic. This is about a court case in Baltimore.

Lucylastic -> RE: No justice in Baltimore today (11/7/2017 8:42:35 PM)

No really??
wow, I wasnt theone who broughy up

The Ferguson Effect: Baltimore Millennials' Worst Nightmare

Last week, I wrote an article titled Baltimore Millennials’ “City Life” Narrative Starts To Crack. It appears the crack in the narrative is much larger than we thought. What’s developing in Baltimore is called the ‘Ferguson Effect’. This is a theory where the increased scrutiny of police post 2014 death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and Trayvon Martin in Florida will lead to higher crime rates. Baltimore is turning this theory into a reality, as the city descends into chaos before the summer start. The rapid deterioration of Baltimore in 2017 has caught the linear mindset of the millennials’ off guard, who thought gentrification was right around the corner.

The Baltimore Sun Newspaper projects 409 homicides this year, which is a 20-yr high.

It’s so bad that the Mayor of Baltimore has asked the Federal Government for assistance via the ATF and FBI to get Baltimore under control.

Meanwhile, Baltimore city is hemorrhaging city residences hitting a 100-yr low.

The American High 1946-1964 was a high point for many American cities of high population growth and industry. I was just in Detroit surveying the six worst zip codes that the town had to offer, and have to say that population decline and industry leaving is because of globalism and rhymes with Baltimore, Maryland.
