The thing is, even if Senator Warren is FOS about ancestry (I don't know if she is or not, wouldn't surprise me either way),- that otherwise great ceremony was NOT the time to bring it up, nor to "make a point" having zilch and nada to do with any of the original nations, certainly not the ones being putatively, or as it turns out, punitively 'honored' on this inauspicious occasion.

Even if so (which it might well be the case), the point is, what might have been borderline 30-40 yrs. ago is most likely clearly over the line now. The interviewer was likely having watched his standard 'US Western TV Show' as was still popular at the time when coming to the interview.

Now more than ever, throwing the TV into the trash is the only hope for society.

I can guarantee you, Trump has no appreciation of history, doesn't watch TCM (Turner Classic Movies), because the fat orange pig never had any values at all, much less any notion of them.

What I've seen throughout movies, books etc. is that however much the surroundings change, however differently spoken in the day, etc. there is some continuity of a sense of manners. Doesn't matter if to everyone's satisfaction or not, but at least some attempt is there.

Not here.

Trump never had a clue about manners in the first place, never a clue to begin with, and made that a point of pride, inviting all the ill-mannered "shit where you eat" of the world to tag along. Doesn't matter what's going on in the US Congress, all they care about is having somebody tweeting like a teenager as president, so all these sorrowful bastards or bitches can do is tweet back; "So right!"

I like both versions.

I'm told there's a lot of people who prefer Cyndi Lauper's take on Money Changes Everything to The Brains' version, come to that.

Completely different times, there. Don't ask me to choose, both so appropriate to the moment, to the audience in front of them at the time. Yes, that was George Martin (over to your right) conducting the orchestra in the earlier version. Cilla was riding in the bus and slapping the Beatles on the face as they were learning how to write songs while they were all on tour in the North, with none of them much to offer two years earlier. But I like Bjork's version a lot.
