And if she is a false native American referred to Pocahontas because of her claim of being Native American. That's just mocking her pretending to be Native American. Not an insult to Native Americans.
When Pocahontas is a well loved Disney native american disney character, what that name is most famous for.
It was a verbal attack using a racially-linked name, to demonize her claimed racial ancestry.
Actual Native Americans are complaining about the use of the name.
There's a fascinating show on PBS called Finding Your Roots, which does genealogy and DNA matching to give celebrities as much detail as possible about their family history and just where they come from. Many of the guests have either been told very little, or have been told family lore that proves to be inaccurate, or at least not totally accurate.
Senator Warren had a self-identity about her racial background based upon family stories. I haven't seen any DNA test to show that she isn't Native American in some part. It would be interesting if she were to do that show.
