Trump owes $83,300,000 in damages

That's a chunk of change, even for him!

Of course he is appealing, but on what basis? He never appealed the original verdict holding him liable for the assault and the defamation.

NOW, that he knows the amount, he's appealing???

Keep in mind, you can't argue the facts of the case in an appeal. You can only argue that a judge's decision was unfair, or that you weren't able to cross-examine a witness sufficiently, or the judge was a biased meanie head.

I don't see any success in an appeal on this.

Success isn't as important as not giving up the money. Better to keep it tied up by lawyers that'll never get paid too.

I wonder how much he has fleeced from his supporters for his legal fees.

Campaign finance experts say using the money to pay for lawyers in cases not related to the campaign or officeholder duties appears to conflict with a federal ban on the personal use of donor dollars, even though the Federal Election Commission has ruled the prohibition doesn’t apply to so-called leadership political action committees.

Trump’s Save America political action committee has paid nearly $37 million to more than 60 law firms and individual attorneys since January 2022, Federal Election Commission records show. That amounts to more than half of the PAC’s total expenditures, according to an Associated Press analysis of campaign finance filings, and represents a staggering sum compared to other political organizations.

He doesn't pay his lawyers so where does the money go?

Never the less MJ that 83 million will nip a bit. More so they aren't classed as legal fees.

What's funny is, Alina Habba (Trump's miserable failure of a lawyer) tried to defame Roberta Kaplan (E. Jean Carroll's lawyer) claiming that that she and the judge had a conflict of interest, because they worked for the same huge law firm 30 YEARS ago.

Roberta threatened to sue or have her sanctioned.

That shut her up in an instant.

Now Trump is seeking a new lawyer for the appeal.

It would probably be good to have a fresh set of eyes on the case. Maybe they could actually find some legal grounds to file an appeal.

Not likely, but it doesn't take much to file.

I think he has to pay some of his case's fines but you two will know better than me which ones. By he I mean his supporters who are daft enough to give him money.

I found out he put the $6 million into escrow for the first E Jean Carrol Case. That $85 million will hurt.... his PAC and supporters to be more accurate. I don't understand how any of that can be legal. Its like his own private piss up against a wall slush fund.

This case got dismissed today Donald Trump's attempt to bring a case in the UK against a former MI6 officer who compiled a salacious dossier linking him to Russia has failed. In Thursday's ruling in London, Mrs Justice Steyn DBE said she did not make any judgement on the allegations themselves but found Mr Trump's claim had not been brought within the six-year limitation period.

"There are no compelling reasons to allow the claim to proceed to trial," she wrote.

£50 million I heard, of his supporters money he used on his own legal fees for 2023. A drop in the ocean compared to 2024 I suspect.
I also read at least one of his law companies left him bcause he didnt pay them the millions he owed them.

What happened with Deutsche Bank? I take it they were washing Russian money? Yes, we probably all do that.

No American banks would touch Trump after a few years. He was also laundering for the Mob. So why did Deutsche Bank, as they would have checked his history and looked into why the Americans would not touch him.

I heard the level he leveraged from Deutsche Bank was enough to bring them down if he went tits up and that is the reason they kept giving him more.

Too big to fail. I'm sure there are other people that fall into that category, but Trump has been a household name since the 80s. PACs have different rules than campaigns, but at least one state has pushed through election finance charges for Trump's Super PAC. Wisconsin, I think.

and, Donald Trump owes another $454m as he appeals against the judgment in his New York civil fraud trial.

He paid off Stormy did he not, Trump University, and Karen MacDougal and others? Did he use his own money for all of them? I doubt he did.

Deutsche Bank took him in at Putin's bidding... He was financed directly by Russian Oligarchs for too long. People were getting suspicious. Putin has a ton of influence with Deutsche Bank. They have been laundering Russian money for well over a decade. Putin got Trump a relationship there. That way the bank could finance him with the funds they received from Russia.

I do think the New York civil trial would have been the best opportunity to present any of that as evidence. But perhaps that civil trial was simply a prelude to conspiracy and RICO charges for the whole family.

The rollercoaster of emotions us just too much. Every court case is supposedly the one that'll do him in, and it just all goes to crap somehow.

The NY case was supposed to banktopt him, but he was given a reduced rate and an extension to pay by the appelate court. The Georgia case was supposedly a slam dunk, only to find out the prosecutor is fucking one of the investigators....

I don't have enough Xanax for this ness. Democrats kinda suck at the whole pifical hackhob thing. Just because somebody does something on live tv, in front of all kinda people, and the evidence is overwhelmed ng.. nope, never happened. Must be that AI. It's like Han6 was all a Vab Dammw movie somebody rented and never took back. The dude with the Grand Pubah how ns is running for Congress. Wtf is wrong with this country?

I have not done any of those things.

Criminals have a right to a speedy trial. The sheer number of Jan 6th criminals slowed down the wheels of justice a bit. No one was censored or cancelled.
