irishbynature -> Nostradamus (7/30/2006 6:49:00 AM)

I've been reading Nostradamus' Quatrains since I was about 12 years old. I've been fasinated and blown away as I 've seen some of his writings 'appear' to have come to pass.

Anyway, there are MANY quatrains that speak of WWIII,; how it will start, come to pass, and eventually, end. I've posted a couple of quatrains.  I think one might be Israel, esp. if you read the other quatrains that go with this particular one.

I'm also posting a link for reading if you are interested in discussing his quatrains and if you see any relation to what is happening presently. Enjoy!

9-11? (This is the actual quatrain and not the fake ones made up on line)

"The sky will burn at forty-five degrees latitude, (see the latitude of NYC on the globe)
Fire approaches the great new city, (New City? New York City?)..
Immediately a huge, scattered flame leaps up (self - explanatory)..
When they want to have verification from the Normans." (Our gov. called the French to get answers first after 911)..

Could be Israel? (Sort of vague here)
"In the City of God there will be great thunder,
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos,
while the fortress endures,
the great leader will succumb."
Nostradamus 1654.

WWW3 will come as a result of over population.

too many rats in a cage will fight.

likley it will be a very dumb incident that sets it off.

at 1st glance one may say oil, but clean drinking water IMO is a huge concern.

NastyDaddy -> RE: Nostradamus (7/30/2006 8:20:41 AM)

It is rumored that most of Nostradamas quatrains were quilled while heavily under the influence of cocaine and other tastey things... while watching/studying/observing a vile bowl full of swill...

Perhaps a matching environment would make his quatrains better understandable?

Got Swill?

pahunkboy -> RE: Nostradamus (7/30/2006 8:22:52 AM)

the guys that wrote the bible were drunk too.

meatcleaver -> RE: Nostradamus (7/30/2006 8:37:17 AM)

The problem with prophecies and those that believe in themis that they become self fullfilling. This is one of the problems with Jesus, he knew exactly how to fullfill the prophecy of being the Messiah.

The reason why Israel gets so much uncritical support from the US is not because of the relatively small Jewish lobby but the milliopns of fundemental christians who belive in the literal translation of the bible and the Jewish return to the holy lands as fullfilling part of the prophecy that leads to the second coming.

NYC's latitude is around 40.  So, if we say that 45 is between 40 and 50, that gives us a range from mid-Spain to the top of France.  In other words, half of europe.  Chances are pretty decent something will happen in that area eventually.

A new city, eh?  Wow.  Very specific.  So this guy said that a new city will be erected at some point in Europe, and that fire approaches.  Cuz, you know, fire was so rare in those days.

And that a huge, scattered flame leaps up?  That's what happens when fire and combustibles come together.  However, I don't think the NYC fires were scattered.

And of course we called up the French!  We prolly called up everyone, and they happened to be at the top of the list. Although I can't imagine only one person was on operator duty that day, and we literally had to call them one by one.

So do I find it creepy?  No more than a fortune cookie.

Yours,

benji

sub4hire -> RE: Nostradamus (7/30/2006 9:06:01 AM)

I've also read Nostradamus over the year's.  My mother was a firm believer.  Some of it makes much sense "PROVIDING" they have read it correctly.

Most everyone who has read his notes has come to different conclusions.  Which only makes me wonder if we want to see something badly enough we make it happen?  Those coincidences aren't just facets of our fantasy world?

In other words.  I can write a story and everyone who reads it is going to get something different out of it to fit them, are they not?
As a society we have wanted answers for a very long time.  Blind faith is a bit hard to swallow.

Termyn8or -> RE: Nostradamus (7/30/2006 9:23:13 AM)

I read things and I don't remember the words, but I do remember the ideas. I remember that Nostradamus predicted the rise of "Hister" and that is generally taken to mean Hitler.

Now I am not so sure. With the hubris of certain international powers who shall remain nameless for now, this may not have come to pass yet, but the prediction is that Hister is eventually defeated I think.

Irish, if you really want a mindfuck, compare the quatrains to Revelations in the Bible. Then take all of that along with whatever you know about history, I mean true history, not the TV kind. I am not religious at all, but I read Revelations in a "plain english" Bible about three times. Sometimes it's the big things, sometimes it's the little things that make one go "hmmmm". For example "Men shall seek death but not find it".

I think there are two factors involved here, but first let me say this : there is no such thing as the supernatural, that is to say that even what people consider supernatural is actually natural.

I believe that the Quatrains and Revelations were written by people with incredible insight. As Einstein proved, you can't measure one's intelligence by whether they can match up a pair of socks in the morning. I will not judge whether they were clairvoyant or not, I think it possible that they saw the trends and actually didn't make predictions, but rather projections.

Another factor is that the world's "leaders" of today are a very wierd and quirky lot, and may consiously or unconsiously be making these projections come true. We got the Bushes and Clintons in the Skull and Bones society, and they have some pretty wierd rituals and practices. Perhaps they are being brainwashed in that, and similar cabals. Members of the Illuminati are not exactly the average guy on the street either.

Pahunk, perhaps you shouldn't have made light of this in the beginning. If my hypotheses put forth in the last paragraphs are even partly true, these old writings may hold the key to our future, if any.

A quickie about revelations, or more specifically armeggedon. "The sea will die".

Israel is sitting on alot of nukes, and if they got hit by a nuke there is good reason to believe that other fissionable material will go off as well. The fallout will go over the sea. Eventually it will kill the sea, and when the sea dies, we die.

Irish, there is another document, not as old but if you are into such things, it's almost a must read for you. It has been called a forgery and all that, but I see the paralells to what is going on in the world. It's origin is reported to be that it was confiscated from someone who got arrested somewhere in Europe. Nobody knows, but The Protocols Of The Meetings Of The Learned Elders of Zion was obviously written by someone with incredible insight. I will not say if it is all true, I can no more do that than judge whether the Quatrains or Revelations are true. All I can do is meld it with what I see in world events.

There is another very interesting but little known document about economy which defies discreditation. This one was supposedly found in an old Xerox copying machine coming off lease and is called "Silent Weapons For Silent Wars". IIRC it was written by Amsel Rothchild (Maher, they changed their name to Rothchild, meaning red shield in German). Apparently the author was well versed in electronics, and also economics. I understand electronics and he takes the world economy and analogizes it to an electronic circuit. Everything from basic human needs to saving/investment of capital, production and even taxation is compared quite astutely with inductance, capacitance and resistance in an electronic circuit.

To me, in each case the "authenticity" is not a big issue. Complete gibberish can be written in castles, while words of extreme wisdom and insight can be written under a bridge, or in prison. I'm not saying that it doesn't matter who wrote it, but that is not as big an issue as it's content. I have a very hard time understanding "Silent Weapons", but I do understand the concept.

Silent weapons is exceedingly hard to get, if you want a copy I'll have to find it, scan it and send the pictures. The Protocols are easily obtainable online. When you start comparing such writing to actual happenings, I have found that generally one cannot get enough. So that is my suggested reading. If possible, one needs to use one's knowledge of world events in relation to th words, WITHOUT reading between the lines. Not the easiest thing to do.

I was in Navigation in the Navy and Coast Guard and I know that Boston, Mass is at 42 Degrees North Lattitude and NYC is southwest of Boston so I'd say it's at 40 or 41 degrees lattitude.
Irish, *STUNNING* picture!!!

KenDckey -> RE: Nostradamus (7/30/2006 7:39:16 PM)

I did the google earth thing.   NYC is 40 degrees 51 minutes North
Ottawa is 45 degrees 25 minutes North
Boston 42 degrees 21 minutes North

This what I believe is wrong with the world today, over population is driving humans to extremes. Its Mother natures way of population control.

Estring -> RE: Nostradamus (7/30/2006 11:18:12 PM)

It is amazing that people who make fun of religious people for being naive, will gobble up this nonsense. If you read some of these prophecies, you can make them fit any scenario. A major war will take place sometime in the future? Amazing! It will take place in Europe? How could he know that? Maybe because humans have been fighting all over the world (especially Europe) since time began. Way to go out on a limb.
And sorry to tell you. The world is not overpopulated. That is another stupid movement that was very popular in the 70's. Luckily for the US, we didn't buy into that nonsense, but European countries and countries like Japan are having a major crisis because of their low birth rates. Maybe they should have consulted Nostradamus first.

I disagree.  we are at capacity.    a cage might hold more rats- but not comfotably. we take up more space and use up more resources then at any other time in history. it isnt sustainable. if something bails us out- great.

6 billion on earth is capacity.

figure 10 billion in 20 yrs.

OR suppose 300 million grab the consumption level of americans.   that wont work for too long.

SirKenin -> RE: Nostradamus (7/31/2006 6:38:15 AM)

First, Revelations is not predictions of the future.  That is a common misunderstanding.  It speaks of events that happened 2000 years ago.  Anybody that reads Revelations literally knows nothing about the Bible.  Paul wrote it in code on purpose, so that it could get past his Roman captors without being censored.  He was warning the Jews of tribulations to come at the hands of the Romans.

Second, WWIII is going to start in the East.  More than likely the US will make a move on North Korea and China is going to swoop in and kick USA's ass, OR China and it's allies will rise to the aid of Palestine and make a move on Israel.  Once a move is made on Israel, that will be it.  Every major country in the world is going to jump in on the action and blood is going to overflow into the streets.
