Interesting comments from Colbert, although satire, they certainly seem to describe a certain segment of the internet population quite well...

For some time now, I've had the sinking feeling that we are sliding back into the superstition of the Middle Ages.
Anything that resembles fact checking, citing authoritative references, debunking, or critical thinking seems to generate howls of outrage from an angry mob...here at CM and elsewhere in the cyber-world.

From behind a keyboard, ignorance is power, and knowledge is a threat.

"....On Comedy Central’s hit show The Colbert Report, he goes beyond expertise into the arena of what he calls the anti-expert. “My show is an exercise in willfully ignorant, emotionally based, non-intellectual, -incurious passion about things. For instance, what gives Britannica the right to tell me that the Panama Canal was built in 1914? If I want to say 1941, that’s my right.” Don’t even think about arguing with him."

What do you mean?  A baseless inquisition into terrorism, because people think it endangers our christian beliefs, people believing less in science, and more in the supernatural, crusades to the holy land....

I don't see it how we're at all like the middle ages.

Man!  Kids these days!

Yours,

benji

  Greetings truthseekers,

If any one wants a good belly laugh ,to last the rest of the week, check out this clip of Stephen Colbert,at this year`s White House Correspondence dinner. This is not a fake video. He actually is 6 feet from the POTUS, as the keynote speaker, and doesn`t let the president ,or the press off the hook.Colbert plays the satirical "O`Reilly" roll(from the Colbert Report),and while he seems to be embracing the president,he`s ripping him a new one, from the first joke, to the final "WH spokesman audition tape" that Colbert summits. The press are also mocked,as they should be.This is not recommended for republicans,neo-cons,weak-hearted fox news viewers,or people in the militia movement. To view the keynote speech, click this link

Stephen Colbert for President!!

LOL...I was sent this link weeks ago by a Norwegian friendwatched the clip  and I found it extremely amusing. Colbert presses my *funny bone*, though I'm new to him.
