RLowner -> Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 4:24:42 AM)

I have to ask why so many feel that it is necessary to post a naked or near naked photo for all to see. I have always been under the impression that this life is not of SEX and NUDITY but is of the desire between a Master and his. Those desires are what makes them both fulfilled not what some book says you have to act as. I often wonder if the life is becomeing nothing but a way to bring self gradification to some and to others a way to lure ones into a abusive relation under cover of saying it is the way the life is. You see so many saying I posted a photo and if you want to talk to me you have to post one as well. To me that smacks of a player using the life to gain access to someone naked photos to steal and post on some other porn site. I have seen this life style go down hill over the past few years as the internet has become more avaible. I wonder if this site charged for access if we would have so many players. Is the real meaning of the site lost by the players and ones seeking porn. Just look at the adds this and other sites use and I have to say I think a lot of those photos are fake. I live in a smaller comunity and I have never seen any of the photos of the girls that it uses walking down the street in real life. IN fact one of the towns it uses does not even have a store in it or a gas station only a stop sign but there are over 30  photos from that location, hard to believe. Or is the whole life style becomeing nothing more than a way to have kink in your sex life, you find more and more I want to be controlled in the bed room but vanilla outside of it. To me you can't have it both ways and achieve the same effect. But then again I have my own opinion and not that of others.

ExSteelAgain -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 4:37:55 AM)

I don't think I've every seen a profile of anyone demanding others post a nude pic. It is entirely reasonable for someone to ask to see your G-rated pic if you communicate with them for awhile. Nude pics would be up to the individuals to decide about.

Plus, the internet is no more a cause of anything than the phone or TV is. It is a tool for all types. Some good, some bad.

MasterLon -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 4:45:38 AM)

RLowner,
I need to agree with most if not all of your insight. I have also noticed many nude to semi nude photos, I think also that most are not real, but, Nice to look at. I think most seek sex only and this is one way to entice others that seek sex only. This lifestyle is not only about sex, But people want it to be and many vanilla ladies mistake this site for a sex only site...Oh well, Look at the pics, Enjoy the view and move on to someone that is serious...

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 10:00:49 AM)

If people only want to see pics of naked hot people, collarme is hardly the site to accomplish that goal, and certainly not by emailing and demanding them.

However, this is a personals site for alternate lifestyles relationships, often defined through sexuality.  You will find demanding dorks on any type of personals site and collarme is no different.

Oh, and one certainly can have it both ways, and very happily so.  I'm glad you enjoy your superiority over people who "just" enjoy the sex and fun as they choose, but really, they are doing exactly what you are doing- what you want to do for yourself in the long term.

zumala -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 10:57:13 AM)

I can't say that I go perusing through the profiles very often, but I'm sure they aren't all nude photos.  I know mine isn't.

You mentioned the 30 girls from a 'city' that couldn't possibly have those girls living there.  I assume you are refering to the pictures of ladies that appear on the sides of the page.  This, unfortunately, is not a representation of real women on collarme.  Those pictures are bait, advertisements if you will, that a business (not collarme) hopes you will click on.  Apparently collarme has sold space for funding purposes.  If you want to see real people, you have to look within the profiles and not on the side.

Hope this helps you out, RLowner.

MasterDesire -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 11:10:21 AM)

well zumala in response to my posting I am no dummy and know what is an ad and what is not. Yes I was refering to the ad banners on the page as far as I am concerned it cheapens the site here as it turns it to a porn site. Also as to your words real women on collarme I am finding more and more are not even close to real only looking for someone to be foolish and send them money But, then again is what I have seen. Would be happy to prove my point in a private email to you. Also you can back trace and find a lot of the so called women are coming from a male IP address so go figure

zumala -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 11:32:03 AM)

I didn't realize that IP addresses had genders.  [:D]  I'm just kidding.  Couldn't quite resist the temptation to silliness there for a moment.

I have no doubt that there are a lot of people here who are not really looking for a serious or real BDSM-type of relationship.  A lot of guys are looking for sex and they either act like Dom jerks or pose as submissive females, or what have you.  I've read posts about women who are busy trying to bilk men out of their money.

I suspect this is just the reflection (bad as it is) of humankind in general.  You have to look carefully for those people who are genuinely here for the reason they state (not to mention the purpose the site is meant for!).  Is that nice?  No, obviously not.  But if you want to use collarme to search for someone, you just have to sift through all the bad until you find the good.  If that's too much trouble, then I wouldn't bother with the site.

And I agree with you about the ads, but it isn't my decision.

ExSteelAgain -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 11:36:39 AM)

Desire, I'm sure you can find some insincere people on CM, but, I promise, there are many real ones too. Many of us know each other and we are exactly what we say we are. Why be so pessimistic about the whole site? If the ads tick you off here, have you seen Bondage.com and other sites?

Sub03 -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 3:46:31 PM)

Why oh why is that the first few threads new people on this site start is ones complaing about the site or who's on it or that people on it are owned etc. etc. Its the internet people, all you have to do to be able to play on the internet is click a few keys and click a mouse. So it is open to anyone and everyone that wants to participate. Just because this site is what it is dosent make it any different then any other site online, there are going to be players, fakes, and wankers. Accept it, move on and talk to the people on here that actually participate in this lifestyle day to day away from the glare of the screen. I promise there are plenty of them here.

gooddogbenji -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 3:50:53 PM)

So I found this profile today.  A very attractive Domme with a perfect picture, in my area, giving away a MALE (emphasis "hers") toilet slave.

I wonder how real that one is....

Yours,

benji

Those banner ads keep this website free. I suspect they'd be happy to take them down for you if you'd offer to pay the same amount as the advertisers do.

I do agree with the naked photo thing.  I personally find it tasteless and rather classless to post a picture for all the world to see that shows a see through top, or fully naked., or half naked or whatever.  Im not a prude and have myself shared naked photos and other photos of myself that I would consider highly personal.  But I would never post something like that as part of an 'introduction' in my profile.  But then, thats just me.  I dont feel strongly about those who choose to show themselves naked for all to see, I just find it kind of "cheap".   Though I love nudes with regards to artwork and have one hanging over my bed.  So maybe that makes me a hypocrite.  I just dont think a profile on a website is the appropriate place to display personal nudity.  By the same token, Im not one to tell the world, by way of laundry list my sexual likes/dislikes.  I also find that to be highly personal information that the public doesnt need to be privy to.    I am more than willing to share these things,  but only with someone who actually matters.

SusanofO -> RE: Web sites and the life style (7/31/2006 7:15:51 PM)

Noah and benji (and whoever else is listening): Parts if this thread are already what I consider "classic" just like the thread last week about the Domme who was concerned about the way her submissive male's occupation as a welder was affecting her olfactory sense. I am sure the best is yet to come. I can already tell.[:D]  I sure am going to keep tuning in.
