Status: offline 		Don't mean to state the obvious, but the idea behind those bdsm "finishing" schools is starting to sound like an untapped business market, really. I've only seen ads for places like this occasionally on the web, even when I've looked for them (and I have on an occasional evening, done that - just to see if they were there, and how many, out of curiosity).

I know people have their networks, etc. to find places like this, but am starting to wonder how places like advertise to or beyond the point where they are actually reaching more and more people who might really need or want their services, yet haven't heard of them via their traditional advertising method (word of mouth, or a wbeiste, or whatever it might be).

If they are making what they consider enough money (or aren't doing it, really for the money) then they maybe don't care about that (my guess). But, the ones I've run across seem hidden from many who might want to use them, and I know to a degree they have to be (I suppose), but I am wondering if any buisness person who owns and-runs this kind of enterprise approaches doing this (having a bdsm school) with a more expansive mind-set (short of a franchise, but still, bigger somehow).

I'm not volunteering (no expertise there at all), but am perfectly serious in my comments.There are probably places I missed on the web when I looked for them one night (it was a long time ago, last year). Hmmm.

Status: offline 		I have often wondered about what it would be like to be trained in a formal house. Unfortunatly it is something that will most likly never be a reality for me. I have to many responsiblities in my everyday life to ever be able to do something like that. But one can always dream.

The question I would have, is this "finishing" something that a dom would want his sub to have, or is this something that is appealing just to the sub?  The impression I've received from doms is that they are more interested in subs learning to let out their "inner slut".

Well I cannot speak for my friend,
but I think once you turn it into a business for profit
it all becomes tawdry and ugly quite quickly.

The Headmaster does the training in his House

Status: offline 		Doctor D: I can see your point, but we Business majors don't necessarily think the concept necessarily has to steal all the romance and intimacy from the notion.The proof is always in the puttin' and execution, I'd suppose.

As a single business entity though not as a franchise.
The clients could come to you and get room and board and instruction for a set fee system.

Actually, while being raised I was sent to a type of finishing school. How to dance, eat, decorum, poise, etc.. I find it quite useful in today's world. (I am only 25 so this was not long ago). If I am lucky enough to have children they too will be sent to such a school and for the record, it was co-ed. (not lifestyle obviously)

Status: offline 		There are plenty of girls schools around but i do not believe that corporale punishment is allowed at such.  I went to one, and corporale punishment was not something that ever occured, all that happened was extra study periods something like detention with books, and loss of priviledges (going to town on saturday, going to dances at the boys schools, not attending field outings ect.)  I don't think you'll find many schools in north america if any that would and/or will permit physical punishment.  Good luck to you though, if you are serious in your search.  These schools are more expensive today then they were 20+ years ago when i attended, and i think this focuses towards the societies elite.

(edit) some plausible options might be 'secred hearts', a convent or such for a short term stay
