...what the point is?

I know someday I'm going to find someone, and I know when I do it's going to be truly incredible (I do believe that)....but....do you ever wonder if it's ever going to happen?

Nope.
The point is to try, to dream....and if it doesn't happen, oh well...you tried and you dreamt it.

No, I presume that there is no reason it won't happen.

I gotta agree.................nope nope nope...even if there was a point there could never be a point.

It is the world and it is glorious, however (and it will) find you.

I wondered that all the time in the vanilla world, so I can only imagine how long it will take in the BDSM scene.  A friend of mine is happily in a 24/7 with her Dom.  It only took her 7 years to find him.

Of course I wonder...There are no guarantees in life. Anyone who tells me they know it will eventually happen for me, is really just placating me. It's not the truth, because no one knows. No one can see the future.

At times it seems silly to imagine it won't happen...but yes, there are days...like today...when I do wonder.

But, I hang in there...What else can we do but ride the rapids and hope they lead to somewhere beautiful?

Yes, but most days I'm much more hopeful.
I don't know what is going to happen, except for doing my best to be happy now, and retaining an open heart and mind to the possibility of contentment or even magic with him.

I think that alot of folks, especially in the United States, live under the mistaken impression that they are entitled to happiness under the mandate of some weird, self-serving karmic law.  TreSwank believes that profoundly happy people are in the minority.

I believe, no matter where you reside, you are entitled to happiness. However, before you can be  'happy' you have to find happiness within yourself.
(Easier said than done, I know)

Just say, "I am worthy of...happiness, love, good health....." That's the karma. We are here to learn to be happy and love ourselves and eachother.

Warmly,
Irish

I think everyone has the occassional day when they are searching where they loose sight of the possibilitys. Thats where I gave myself a kick in the arse, reminded myself I'd felt that way on the odd day here and there the last time... but I'd found what I was looking for before and I damn well would do so again. Got off my backside and found at least one new person to mail or one more event to go to. Eventualy... bingo! A reply, a chat, a meeting.... a collared girl

I did wonder before I found Doug.  It only took me 5 year's to find him.  Though looking back it was worth waiting ten if need be.
As many say in all relationships, you are probably looking too hard.  When you least expect it the right person will come your way.
I had just began the process of giving up when I met him.
Good Luck.

I don't look and I don't dream, I really don't see the point. That way only lies frustration. My life is full enough and while it would be nice to have someone to share dome fantasies with, there will always be more fantasies out of reach so yep, what is the point of worrying about whether something will happen or not.

I have always wondered where thoughts of an *entitlement* to anything as loosely defined as *happiness* comes from. I've seen the same thoughts expressed regarding love. No-one seems to be able to say why they think they are *entitled* ......lol

I can honestly say I really don't think much about it. I believe that we are all responsible for our own happiness. If I cannot be happy alone, I certainly cannot expect to be happy in a relationship. Of course we all have shitty days, it's how we deal with them and move forward that matters. I used to think I would just diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeee if I never had the "one true love" of my dreams. Now I just laugh about the very idea of that "one true love". If something resembling that idea comes along, grand, if not I am perfectly cool doing my thing and concentrating on right now.

The problem with many people is that they spend too much time focusing on the wrong thing.  This thinking of "must get a partner", "will I get a partner" or "I can not live without a partner" is completely the wrong angle and with that line of thinking there is a good chance that you never will find someone decent, if anyone at all.  If you do not have one there is probably a really good reason why, you just may not have found it yet.

The purpose in life is not to find a partner.  The purpose in life is to find yourself.  The rest will follow on it's own.

The point is to live every day as though it may be your last, do kindness where you can, love all you are able and feel the sun smile on you and let the rain kiss you and of course ride whenever possible.
