OK, I'm creating this thread for the express purpose of giving respect where respect is both due and seldom given. You know, we all give props to one person or another on occasion, and the crush thread serves this purpose quite nicely, most of the time. However, this is not a crush thread. This is a thread dedicated to "This person rocks and I hardly ever take the time to say it." This isn't where you come to harp on the person you always harp on. So if you like, respect, or just plain adore someone that you've never really had the chance to talk about, now's your chance. And to start the festivities... Benji, you are one of the most awesome posters on this forum or any other that I have had the pleasure to see the wisdom and silliness of. You are insightful, witty, irreverent (which I actually respect the most), freakin' hilarious, and convoluted. You and I hardly, if ever, speak, but I enjoy reading your insanities whenever they are posted. You rock, and don't you go changin'!

there are loads of people on here i really have a great deal of respect for. In no particular order, they include: LaMalinche, Lord Vandal, RavenMuse, susanofo, Lucky Albatross, mixilicous, SavageFaerie, Litleone, Vancouver_cinful, irishbynature, DracoAU80, Lifetime, chantrea... i'm sorry, i'm sure there are many more, but these are the people who spring to mind. may i just thank E/everybody for just being so lovely really.. luv, shiv xx

ok Im sorry to burst bubbles maybe its the fact that life has pissed in my chireos yet again but i hate these threads they leave so much room for people to get hurt just as in the crush thread it can be a bit upsetting to those that dont get mentioned do we really need to keep giveing the same few people pats on the back... maybe im saying this becuase I never get mentioned and yes it kind of gets to me so I know it gets to the others that never get mention I know it seem to be no big deal and people joke saying "Oh no one has a crush on me " or what ever the thread may be but those people are really saying damn im beeing left out again do those of us that dont get mentione on these threads really need another thread to make us feel infirior and remind us yet again that people here dont care dont like or dont notise them sorry VH you know I love you but this is how I feel rant over now bak to your regulalry scheduald thread -da enigma-

Enigma, These threads are not PC. Each person will mention their favourites specifically, and 99% of CM will not be included on each list. Granted, it's more fun to be mentioned than not, but don't piss on the rest of our collective parades. I'm not a fan of Valentines day for that exact reason, but I don 't go burning down flowery gazebos because of it. Going on an emotional rant about how this is unfair may get you a few immediate mentions out of pity, but really, it does not contribute to the forums. It's your right to post anything anywhere, but I thought I'd say how I feel. And yes, I know, not PC, what I just wrote. I don't do well with complainers in real life, and I don't do well with them here. I also know I will not make any friends through this, but if one person learns something, mission accomplished. When you complain about complainers, it makes you a complainer too.

More seriously though. There's a rational way to point something out, for example, "Threads like these leave too many people out, therefore I will not participate," and emotional, "No one ever mentions me! It's not fair! Other people shouldn't be allowed to hear that they're doing well!" One is a statement of fact, even if passive-aggressive in a way. The other reminds me of kindergarten, and is complaining. I earnestly believe that people not being allowed to receive accolades and rewards for good work is what is wrong with the world today, be it in school or in the work force. Unions work on this principle. If we had a union here, it would work as follows: If someone has over 200 posts in this forum, they get mentioned by 30% of the posters. If they have 1000, 50% have to mention them. If they have 2000, everyone has to list them. That's not the way these forums work, and that's not the way humans work. In my opinion, any system which imposes fairness benefits only those who would otherwise not make it. And of rant, and I do hope I hijacked this thread well enough. I totally agree with you, Benji. There have been people here who have 3 posts, and theirs are very insightful and thought provoking. The fact is that the more you post, the more recognition you get, no matter what it is you say.

I have to say that there is alot of you who have given me a smile everyday I come here La Malinche your a beautiful and intelligent woman who has given me plenty of great conversations . both here and in IM's Vandal Heart I rarely get to talk with you but recently have had that pleasure ... I respect and admire many on here .. croutching, LaT, Drh, benjji ... well hes a breed of another kind isn't he . if you look deep in his sometimes rather off humor you will see a deeper sense of what he is conveying to you.

Someone I hardly ever mention but damn well deserves cudos.... mons. Dyslexia is a hard one to overcome in a written forum especialy when you lack much confidence in it. But sweetie you do wonderfully well, post some heartfelt contributions at times and I've watched quite a gutsy voyage of self-discovery these past few months going on quietly in the background of your postings. I would like to acknowledge my respect for Master RavenMuse. I never skip his posts, i've learned a lot from him, and respect his opinions greatly. Also, Noah. He might be rude and crude, but when it all comes down to it, he knows his shit.
