Status: offline 		OK, I've started to notice that a lot of people in the lifestyle are getting to the point where they can't enjoy enything outside of the lifestyle.  What the fuck is going on?  What happened to variety?  What happened to not being held back by any standard or restriction?  Why is it that to enjoy themselves, some people are becomeing restricted to kink?

Or am I just out of my mind?  (bracing for the smart-asses)

Status: offline 		well . if you would take your lazy ass away from san andreas for more then 15 minutes you might see you can still have fun other then kink. I bowl 2x a week in the fall and winter .... I like shooting pool . and soon .. I am gonna do some non kink traveling just because ..... well maybe not just because but shoot I am gonna do it

Status: offline 		Welllllllllllllllll, aside from the fact that I have no life of kink..........I would never give up all the goofy fun stuff I love. Every morning and evening during the week and off and on all weekend I spend as much time as possible outdoors playing with 4 legged babies. I often take off hiking with my camera around my neck. Last weekend I spent with the grandterrors, alternating between No...No...No and fits of joyous giggles. We played in the sprinkler and of course the mud, together, they are boys ages 2 and 3. We jumped on the bed together. I always have fun at work, lots of laughter. I read ALOT. I am researching the idea of a non profit facility/spiritual/soul/non religous/living in harmony with the earth/ healing type place for young women primarily but not exclusively.  I have no money and it would take ALOT but its a dream/soul calling I have. I laugh alot, I work in a town that is a wonderful place to have fun. I have friends of all ages and social stratta that are condusive to fun and laughter. I love movies and music of all sorts.  BDSM is just a facet of life, not all of it.

Status: offline 		I have to say I still go out almost every night, half of them are taking either my mom or my family out to dinner. I visit my grandparents at least 1 a week, more so now that my younger brother is in jail and my grandmother is very upset by it. All the other nights it's out to either a friends house, a bonfire because I'm a pryomaniac, or out to the bars (very rarely). But then again, I'm not overly involved in the lifestyle.

I don't know about others, but I will readily admit that the almost all of our socializing is with kinky friends.  However, it's not always in a kinky setting.  We have friends over for dinner and board games.  We do group outings to things like haunted houses, Renaissance Faires and corn mazes.  We go antiquing, window shopping, browsing the local Barnes & Noble, walks, bike rides, amusement parks.  And this is with the Kaptin just being home 4 days a month!  We'd be doing a whole lot more if He were home every day. 
 
Our kinky activities with others are limited to a monthly discussion/pot luck dinner/play party, and a rare trip to a regional or national event.

Status: offline 		If people saw a week in the life of the Mists house you would probably be disappointed with the lack of kink.  We watch movies, read books, play with the cats, wood working, home improvement, spend time with the munchkins, shopping, etc.  Throughout it all the M/s dynamic stays in place, it is just how the three of us relate to one another.  We do things just like a large majority of couples... well, except that there are three of us doing it.

Status: offline 		Hmmm ... when people contact me and only want to talk about BDSM, I figure that they don't have lots of experience (so that would be about 90% of them), so they are just bursting to do kink and only kink.

It sure isn't my end-all and be-all.  There have been time that I tell people I get bored of talking about it (a steady diet of *anything* gets dull, neh?), and that throws them for a loop.  Give me minature golf, cattle-pulling, foreign films, spicy foods, funky museums, lots of laughter and the occasional fart in bed ...

Yep, you are totaly raving fucking nuts!

It would be nice to fit a bit more kink IN but all too often real life takes priority. Even yesterday, totaly kink enviroment but only two short bits of play. The rest of the day spent chatting away about life the universe and everything with friendly folks in a very relaxed surrounding.

OK most of the folks I know don't come under the lable 'vanilla' but hell, kink only factors in a small amount of the topics we talk about.

you only stated that you can't stand slaves that will not do shit but be slaves... and made the implication that just being a slave equates to one exercising less of their own humanity. 

I find it very telling that one makes a general universal prejudical comment towards those individuals that are being slaves and making the derogatory comment that they are less than a completely human for being such,  With No regard for the person's own choice and their personal happiness in living a life of slavehood.

prejudicial comments are usually rooted from two things... Ignorance and/or insecurity with ones own self.
