No. Most people live in a place with a city, county, or state hospital (including hospitals belonging to many state universities) that will treat indigent citizens of the place they serve. And most major private academic hospitals also have free care programs who will care people who cannot afford care. Be honest about your situation, and they will have counselors who can help you with the paperwork to get such care.

hope so.  As of right now I have 9k worth of medical bills I can't pay and medicaid has refused to cover. :-/
